    So, just to recap on my version of spring watch....at a most crucial time of the year for all breeding birds some bunny huggers propelled the reproduction of predatory corvids at the cost of weaker species. They couldn't wait until autumn could they, no they waited untill breeding season! Not for the benefit of any wildlife at all was this approach, it was an egotistacle battle of wills, a mind and speech controling exercise.     It's auto mate. It holds 17. You can get 22 pump actions. I had a Remington 527 years ago, well decades ago! It was very good too.

    So I went for the Marlin. It is in fact a 990 model, a variety of the 60 made between 79 & 87. Very reliable, after a couple hundred rounds it only malfunctioned a few times with eley subs and t22. With fiocchi and lasers it's flawless and very accurate. The action is quick and not off putting at all. I got a nice 47 harder and one at about 130yards, ok I had to walk them into the long one but every one was there just low until I stuck the front sight up enough! SD.

    Yes and sometimes it's not just weight but also the length of bullet can require different twists.

    Looks positively dry there mate! Good shots and I'm glad you upset the Maggie. I do hope he doesn't settle in a posh vegan garden though.

    How is it for light up there Gav? When we were up there mid summer it did'ne go dark fully. The curlew and oyster catchers were calling all night.
