greyhound for breeding
sighthound1811 replied to huntingalltheway's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
ah sure she has nothin better to do only spit out pups before you question my motives i rescued this bitch from being shot from a trainer. Just trying to secure a home for her as i dont have the space but having a good home with maybe the odd litter of pups is much better than a bullet through her head. so please less of the sark comments doing best i can Sarky comments ..who me ..i'm telling as i see it ..if you truely want a good home send it to a greyhound rescue close to you ..there's bound to be one close to you ***AND*** the title of your post is ***greyhound for breedin -
av always thought a ridgeback(of the right sort) X with a greyhound half or 3/4 the grew way, would make a useful dog....cheers..chris

a worked one for years mate...shes my avatar pic.. a posted pics of her ages ago but dont know how to view them now...she was too fast for rabbits( got into top gear too quickly)..often trampled them while chasing them..good on the old long ears though.. her prey drive was through the roof..game as fcuk on rabbits ,hares, foxes an deer ..if ye get one young enough you can train it to your needs..there not all as dumb as people would have you believe..av got a wee lurcher now but a would not hesitate to have another grey..... dont know bout the rest but mine was an excellent guard dog as well.. -
thompson dog.... you got the address of the guy ye got the dvds from???? a would love to see scottish dogs run... got a good wee dog myself who,s knockin a few off ...got him off a pure fud who seriously injured him while runnin deer.....dog ended up wi a smashed front wrist an a lot of cuts an grazes...but am only into rabbits an long ears..nursed the wee lad back to health an hes a fcukin crackin wee dug...all the best mate...chris

dogs that have done their time
sighthound1811 replied to watchman's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
any dog(s) a have are kept in the house since their pups ..not only are they workers but family pets as well...an they are also tasked with protecting my wife an 2 young children when am not there..so even if a dog is old like one a had years ago (11 y/o) when she had to be PTS she got taken out a wee walk wi the young dog then taken back home an the youngster was takin back out again ..but a can understand peoples different views..huntin is a hobby to me not a job so a can retire my dogs to the fireside..cheers..chris -
a walk mine on the lead till a get to the ground a intend to run him on then a let him off to basically hunt up anything thats about unless its at night !!! after hes done runnin a put him back on the lead for the long walk home ...basically like an athlete havin a warm down ..av never had a problem with recall or pulled muscles with him or even the pure bred grew a had .. cheers ..chris(sorry the grew used to go into a frenzy sometimes if there was a lot of coneys about hahaha )

"line breeding " is a commonly used method with the dog fighting fraternity ..they believe it makes a dog a lot more fiery !!but beware of birth defects, abnormalities, etc etc ... whatever way you choose to go all the best mate hope everything works out for you..cheers mate..all the best ..chris..
