  1. Had to smash a cold one myself before a cold shower
  2. From a ruff old field and cow shed to this, finished today ( well apart from the rubber for the arena but my mate will go back and put that on when it arrives) I think between the 3 of us we’ve done a cracking job and hopefully when the owner is back at the weekend they are pleased with how it looks my work here is done ??
  3. Not really got much done today, it’s just been too hot, got a couple of old gates put up, boarded two bays and started to have a good clean up, I’ve been asked if I want to paint the stables, I might pass on that
  4. That’s what you want from an FEO, giving it to you straight, the only downside to your application is the time, that has been nothing short of ridiculous, soon be time to go shopping
  5. Still a few good’uns out there, they obviously think highly of you
  6. Yeah, I put the roller over it on vibrate and they crush in solid, as long as they don’t go screwing vehicles around on it it will be fine
  7. It will be fine been limestone, you can put the roller over it on vibrate and the don’t crush like gravel
  8. Yeah, it was just a mucky old uneven farm yard covered in road plainings, so pulled it through and got some kind of level, rolled it in and put the limestone 20mm over the top, won’t have any traffic on it apart from a fat arse horsey bird and a little pony
  9. Jesus, it’s been a scorcher, 60 tonne of limestone chipping down and rolled, completely changed the look of the yard then lucky me got to fit the 5 stable doors, amazingly the bricky and the other lad had far more important jobs to do, the grinder had to come out because they are so badly made, why they didn’t buy Monarch doors I have no idea
  10. The FEO home visit is the last step, it’s still not a given that you will be granted but the odds are well in your favour as if they had drawn any concerns from your application then you wouldn’t be getting a visit, they will check cabinet security and maybe ask a few questions, like where would you keep your cartridges, if they are happy you’ll either receive your ticket or a letter of refusal, they normally won’t tell you at the time of the visit if you will be granted, good luck
  11. Going for a cheap bit of pot roast beef today
  12. Well, as long as they keep coming on here they are not bothering the rest of the world with their nonsense ( lol )
  13. It really is just a lottery, there’s no consistency between any of the forces, I feel lucky with my firearms department as so far I’ve never had a problem with them but have heard so terrible stories from others
  14. It was white lightning around these parts, 2 quid to get absolutely wasted on a Friday after school, if you were out with the big lads and weren’t into evostick then it was olde English, maybe a bottle of MD 20/20 and a trip if you’d made a few quid
  15. 30 years ago a good friend of mine was in a house where someone was thrown from an upstairs window and died, he was arrested and later released without charge, has tried for a shotgun 3 times and been refused, on the last attempt he found out that the refusal was due to his arrest for murder even though no charges were ever brought against him, they said he could take it to court but realistically what’s the chance of him getting it and who has the money
  16. Chicken curry for me, probably the best I’ve ever made chicken breast covered in a leek, chestnut mushroom, garlic, white wine and cream sauce, with rice and veg for her
  17. I do like a cold lemonade on a hot day, even better if it’s home made this will do for me this evening
  18. Give up on the sections last night because I was rushing and it wasn’t going well, fresh start this morning and it looks like my mate was using a malfunctioning tape measure, I’ve had to cut 3 of them and there was only 6 to go in, then I had to make brackets as he hadn’t thought where the clamps would go, never mind, stav will sort it whilst you play in your digger
  19. Busy old day, sand starting to come in, no panic now because we’ve just been told we can’t have the rubber for 4 weeks, repaired the guttering on the shed where the stables are being built, burnt all the crap and started to install the concrete sections that didn’t turn up until half 3
  20. Fencing up hill, fencing down hill, 100 meters of wire up to keep the sheep in, rolled the arena ready for the start of 400 tonne of silica sand coming tomorrow
  21. This is what’s needed after a day mixing concrete
  22. It just tastes like pop, I won’t be getting it again but I’ve had worse
  23. I’ve gone all French this evening, mainly because I’ve never tried it before, not bad but not a patch on a Henry
  24. To hot for this sh*t but the Bricky is further behind than we are with the arena so thought I’d help him out, I might surprise him and go and finish it tomorrow
