  1. Couple of weeks mate and I’m off on a Saturday for a few
  2. Up my way over the past 10 years or so we have noticed a decline in the number of foxes I think some of this is down to people I have know over the years that we’re predominantly rabbit shooters, all want to be out after fox now almost trophy hunting and if you are treating this like a sport rather that pest control as I do then you need to manage your quarry, it wouldn’t make me happy in any way to see them wiped out, I have a fair bit of arable and I don’t tend to actively look for fox on it, that’s not to say I wouldn’t shoot one if I came across it but sometimes it’s just nice to watch th
  3. I’ve got one of them, who in there right mind would want to spend time with me
  4. Nice work, I’m enjoying your write ups, looking forward to the next instalment
  5. Get that cash splashed, if you want to we can have a run up to Northallerton to see what price they will do you a full kit for ?
  6. I used to be the same, always had everything cleared up in the winter all my pens ready by the end of may for the next season and then I was struck down by marriage ?
  7. Well I’m back at home having a brew and the mug says it all, got myself set up where I thought they’d come up the tree line into the opening after 20 mins or so the bloody thing came into the edge of the field about 10 yards from me, winded me in a second and was off back into the woodland, wish I had the shotgun
  8. I’m like this every year, there was only last year I can remember when I had it all cleaned up by June, I have been known to use a couple of cage traps just to get the last couple, I still haven’t got round to sorting the pens out so no doubt I’ll have a couple of fly filled days up there soon, you would think I’d of learned by now?
  9. Ha ha, the program always used to finish with a freeze frame of him laughing trying to juggle a carp or a tench ?
  10. So I’ve been for a walk round my pheasant shoot to check the fox situation and as usual with my work and other commitments I’ve left it a bit late, only managed to find one real spot that I could possibly call in to, got myself a bit of bait and will be giving it a go, failing that it’s going to have to be when they have combined, just before the birds go in, I never make life easy for myself
  11. Ha ha, Rex hunt and bushy, quality ?
  12. Sounds like you had a great night out, good luck for tonight ?
  13. I completely agree with this, all I want to see is a fishing program that shows me how to enjoy it, a bit of water craft and some beautiful surrounding, one of the reasons I moved away from fishing was my mates went down the commercial fisheries route and that’s just not for me, I don’t want to catch gold fish or carp that look like they have been on steroids from a muddy hole in a field
  14. Cracking result, definitely worth an all nighter ?
  15. I’ve just remembered another one I used to watch, go fishing with jack charlton, classics ?
  16. Yeah that wasn’t long ago, he was very lucky to walk away from that, I’m sure I read somewhere that they also found a castaway when they were filming around Australia
  17. Not exactly what I was expecting but I did enjoy it, it reminded me a lot of how me and my mate did our fishing, just being there with a good friend, talking about any old sh*t maybe enjoy a beer on a summers evening, I’ll be watching the rest of them just because there’s nothing better on the box
  18. I know what you mean about Martin bowler, Bernard cribbins made that program, I did like Jeremy wades early stuff, the one that sticks in my head is when he was fishing for arapaima in the Amazon
  19. Martin bowler and Bernard cribbins catching the impossible was the other one I loved
  20. I’d forgotten about that, I loved that, there was another one I used to watch with bob nudd, this lot is going to watch again, it bringing back some lovely memories sitting with my dad on a Sunday evening ?
  21. Chris Yates and bob James my angling heroes ?
  22. I get the impression it’s not all about the fishing and will be a bit more like how they used to do it with the likes of John Wilson, screaming reels and the other one I can’t remember the name of with Martin bowler and my absolute favourite a passion for angling
  23. I always find darkness is needed for foxing on a cut field, they seem very aware that there surroundings have changed, I’ve found that a mouse squeak works well on a silage cut ?
  24. Looking forward to this on bbc2 tonight, it’s about time we had a fishing program on normal telly, two of the funniest men on the box, one a life long angler and the other one Bob Mortimer the best thing to come out of Middlesbrough apart from the A66, I hope it brings back some good memories of watching John Wilson and a passion for angling with my dear old dad when I was much younger ?
  25. Go for a full CZ kit for about 500 quid and with the money you save on the tikka a second hand shotgun and a sound mod for that monster.308?
