  1. For that price it should make me a cup of tea, it has got a bit of weight to it and you need to use lithium batteries with it because apparently it eats normal when it’s been used on a night
  2. Ha ha, I know, the rifle is worth about 1/3 of the price of the scope ?
  3. It’s just under 600 quid, now I’m not sure if I could justify paying that, on the other hand I’m still to see how it is in darkness, from watching videos it does look very good but I’m not sure it would replace the lamp
  4. It’s 6x50 day/night, the image is crystal clear, it allows you to record and has WiFi so I could see on my phone what the rifle was pointing at, it’s the first time I’ve ever used a digital scope and want to try it in full darkness, I’ve always been one for a scope and a torch so it will be interesting to see how I get on with this
  5. So I bought another .17 a few months back for not a lot of money mainly for a mate to use when out bashing rabbits, he ask me to get a better mod for it so put a dpt on, he then asked if he could change the scope and he would sort one out, I agreed and he has turned up with this, a Yukon photon rt, went out and zeroed it and what a bit of kit it is, the only thing I’m thinking is it is to much scope for not enough rifle
  6. Ha ha, like a kid in a sweet shop, I remember the wasps from when I was a kid, shot many a pigeon with them using my old Diana, happy times ?
  7. Nice work, that .223 50 grain has wrecked that vixen, did you shoot her in the bib or side on
  8. Cracking work, it certainly looks like you are getting on top of them ?
  9. Your not wrong, I can sit out in them fields for hours, if I get to shoot a bit then that just makes the time spent there a little bit more enjoyable ?
  10. Just been out on the rape stubble for a couple of hours with a mate and managed 15 I’ll take that with my wonky shooting, he as always showed me how it’s done with 31, he does love a left and a right
  11. A cracking night out, that dog is a good size definitely been living the high life until it had the misfortune of bumping into your good self ?
  12. I looked at them at the northern shooting show and they look spot on although a bit expensive, they do full body or half shell, I think if I was to get some I would go with the full body
  13. Welcome, my advice if you want rabbit shooting would be to try stables and small holdings, get yourself a list of stables in your area and have a drive round, be prepared for a lot of knock backs but if you get one it will no doubt lead to more, good luck ?
  14. I’ve started checking them now and it’s something I’ll continue to do, checked an new box of hornady and no cracks, the lad in the gun shop said they see very few cracks now compared to 18 months ago but it’s still something to be mindful of
  15. That’s a very odd statement to make, I personally wouldn’t use faulty bullets in a rifle, I’ve had a round stuck in the barrel of the .17 and the neck of that case was cracked, so how can you say they are ok to use, they say it doesn’t affect the accuracy? But it has to come out the end of the barrel in the first place ?
  16. The crack allows the pressure out, so it’s not a missfire as in it doesn’t eject the round but it comes out at a much lower speed, on some occasions the round doesn’t leave the barrel
  17. It’s before firing, I bought 600 rounds off a copper that was selling all his kit, I know there was a bad batch of cases about 18 months ago, I guess these were from that batch, the lad wouldn’t of known that as they were all sealed, I took the split ones to the shop today for destruction and he said they have sorted the fault now
  18. I’ll stick to nailing rabbits to the ground to keep them there for a bit, I’m going to send the bugger the bill for my car been valeted, even the fabreze won’t shift the stink
  19. My advice would be don’t bother unless you have no sense of smell and no friends, it f*cking stinks, my mate knows the bloke who makes it so sent him a bottle to try, to be honest If I have to use that to attract the bloody fox I’d rather hand feed it my pheasants ???
  20. So, I had a misfire on the .17 so had a look at the case and the neck had a crack in it, though nothing of it, few more shots and it did it again, same thing, crack in the neck, I’ve just checked the rest of them an out of 400 rounds I’ve got 85 all cracked, these are hornady, Remington and Winchester, mainly Remington that are cracked with a few hornady, out of 100 Winnie’s not one cracked, I know what I’ll be buying from now on ?
  21. Nice work, that’s a good distance, I’ve found that a mouse squeak is working at the minute, they are ignoring the rabbit distress ?
  22. Lovely job, I’m sure you only slightly educated it and it’s time will come ?
  23. I’m blaming the weather, I took my mate up to the pheasant shoot last night, got onto a big dog, me on the NV and my mate on the rifle got the dog down to about 70 yards lit it up and he clean missed it, then came the barrage of excuses, my heads banging because of the weather, my backs killing me ? I had to tell him he didn’t need to explain himself to me, we all miss on another note he brought a spray fox lure with him, I don’t know if any of you have used this but the smell is horrendous, I can’t describe the smell, the foxes seem to be interested in it but I think if I’m trying to dra
  24. It’s the same up here, they don’t want rain now they have started the cut, you could go caving in some of them cracks
