    Day 3 indoors and it isn’t getting any better, I keep looking at the cat and thinking I’m going to put it in an orange T-shirts, give it the run of the house and get the fox caller out, see if I can call it in and let it have it with the nurf gun, just to keep my eye in, I’ve also got my eyes on the hoppers in the garden, thinking of setting a few snares, going old school, I’ve got a few onions and carrots they can have a bath with ?

    I notice them ewes are keeping well away from you, are they abiding by the social distancing or have you worried them enough that they have keep their distance for other reasons ??

    Well I’m two days in the house now and I’m going insane ? I’m back to my mechanic job on Saturday but other work has stopped, so I thought I’d start a book I’ve had laying around for a long time and it’s not half bad, it’s just mainly a load of little tails from an old boy poacher, but at the minute it’s beating the repetitive conveyor of doom that is the tv, after I’ve finished it I’ll do the usual and offer it on here if anyone would like a go.     Very strange times mate, on one hand I never see anyone when I’m there on my own, on the other am I breaking the rules ? I’m supposed to be there tomorrow night after rabbits, to be fair the police are going to be to busy chasing chavs and crackheads about to worry about one man on his own nowhere near anyone else, gathering a bit of food because the shops look like they have been raided

    Cheers mate, I think I should of taken the proper camera today instead of the rifle, there was loads of different song birds about, it has dried out very quickly up there it was only last week I would of struggled to get the quad down some of the rides, today almost all of the pools were dried up with lots of spawn laid on the ground at the minute it’s not looking to good for the shooting season, I’ll be in touch with the shoot captain and secretary over the next few weeks, if it doesn’t go ahead the members will be told the rent will be getting paid and maybe we might get a couple of ru

    Cheers Dave, it’s a labour of love, if I didn’t have to work I would spend all my time here, the way things are at the minute I may well have the time to do a fair few jobs I haven’t had time to do over the past couple of seasons

    Off up to the shoot today on my own, of course, first port of call was down to the farmhouse to check on the old girl as I pulled up I noticed her cleaning the greenhouse out. She came out to greet me at a safe distance of about 20’ and seemed genuinely pleased to see me, ( this is not normally peoples reaction when I turn up ) after a chat for 20 minutes or so about this and that, advising her to stay in and if there was anything she needed all she had to do was give me a ring, I headed to the shed to get the bike out and set off to the far side of the shoot for a walk around.     What a day to be out, you certainly look like you have made the most of it, I’ve got the next five days to myself because my mate is self isolating, maybe because he sneezed and farted at the same time ( who knows ?) so I’ll definitely be taking Boris’s advice and keeping my distance from people firstly with a walk around the shoot forestry tomorrow ? I need to learn how to put little videos on here, I like it mr sausage ?

    I like thermal, but if it’s out in the open I can identify what it is with the NV just as quick, I’d really like a proper scope looking NV to go on the tikka

    That’s definitely something to look at, I know someone who has one on demo, I’ll have to get hold of him to see what he thinks of it’s pro’s and con’s, he’ll always tell me the truth or he won’t get to come game shooting on my shoot, he’s a good bloke to know because every time pulsar or Yukon release something new because of who his son is he gets it to play with

    I was thinking about that today, I could have it posted to me and as I’m now a social recluse I would have plenty of time to play with it on my own ?

    I’ve been to all 3 at Harrogate, it’s a cracking day out, fingers crossed this mess dies out by the summer and it goes ahead, I’m sure there’s loads of stuff I don’t need but once I see it there I have to have it

    You are certainly not the only one to do that, I drove 110 miles to find I’d left the bolt at home, after a lot of swearing ? I drove all the way home collected it and drove back only to find the lad I was meant to meet had shot 3 deer because he thought I wasn’t going back ?

    I’ve just had an email saying that the northern shooting show has been postponed until August, it’s an expected turn of events but I had a tidy sum put aside for a bit of a splurge, if anyone has any ideas how I can save this cash until then instead of frittering it away on pointless stuff I’d be grateful for any help ?, I was also hoping to bump into a few off here, I might of even gone against my northern beliefs and bought them a cup of tea ?
