    I use a night saber wraith laser ir and they are very good, they are variable power with the on/off switch on the tail cap, I’ve never had any problems with bounce back off the mod with the laser, I’ve got another one, a PBIR laser if he wants to borrow one to see what it’s like with a laser ir before he parts with his hard earned

    I keep saying she’s my retirement plan, but in reality the pay rise probably means her Audi S3 will be getting swapped for an RS3, it’s strange how she gets further up the ladder but my life never gets any easier ?

    The missus is working on her presentation for an interview at work for a promotion so I was at a bit of a loose end today, so after food shopping and a bit of a tidy round I thought I’d have a run up the shoot, bit of feed and a walk around, when I got there I went to get the bike out and by the time I’d got back in the yard the old girl was waiting for me, 45 minutes later ? after I got the full weather report and the deaths in the past week and all the damage the rally had done last weekend I set out to feed my couple of spots, my god there’s still some birds about.     Just another note, you would need a digital day/night scope, you can’t shoot deer in the dark ??

    If you were going to go for deer legal and same rifle for fox, you would probably go .243, you would put the sound mod in the firearms you want to be granted section ( .243 sound moderator) as it’s a prohibited item and must be granted along with the rifle, you don’t need to put anything down for NV or scopes you will put the .22 down as .22 long rifle ?

    Put the biggest bit of land down you can, also if the other land owners are happy for you to do so put there’s in the notes, a note from your foxing mate wouldn’t go a miss ether ?

    Did my duty today and showed my face up at the sheep farm for a go at the pigeons, not many about but they have battered a field of rape, did a few hours in the wind and rain, they wouldn’t decoy in that wind coming across the field low and fast, with a flick of a wing they were gone, but at least I got a couple for fox bait, they have started lambing now so the next week to 10 days as long as the weather is ok they’ll be out in the fields so a few evenings looking out over them might produce a fox or 2

    I look forward to all the seasons for different reasons, late warm summer evenings sat out in a t shirt after foxes on the stubble, late winter / early spring rabbit shooting, winter game season and autumn when the cubs are making their own way in life but are still as thick as sh*t, saying all that I’m getting a bit sick of winter now, I wouldn’t mind if it was proper winter, but it’s just wind and rain

    There’s a couple of larsens at the farm, forestry won’t let me put them in between the timber, because they are idiots

    I’d be ok if someone could go on a weekend, he’d maybe only ring me twice a week then ? we’ll sort a day out in the summer, me and Mosh have had some cracking days on the stubbles and when the winter drilling’s have gone in

    Fingers crossed, I used to have people knocking my door down for shooting and wanting to go out with me, now I spend most of my time out on my own and can’t give pigeon shooting away, sad times, if I can find someone decent and reliable it will lead to other opportunities for them, driven game, ruff shooting, foxes and the likes ?

    We’ve stopped shooting but we don’t stop feeding, still a good few about, so to all the people that think we just want to shoot them and once the season is over we stop everything ?? there’s a few deer knocking about now, the roe are the first to show, just as the light was fading there was 3 doe’s along the ride at Gordon’s pen, it’s nice been up there on my own again, it’s gone from been Saturday madness and running around like a nutter 3 days a week back to been peaceful and all mine again ?

    Pigeon shooting between Richmond and Darlington, it’s a small farm but I’ve had some good days here, you need to be able to go during the week, not just weekends, this could be a good pigeon shooting permission for the right person, PM me if you are interested ?
