Hi Mate,.. My Staghound bitch broke her neck last season, and broke her tail (then had to have it amputated) and she just has a five inch tail...she went and broke that as well!...so now i got a 31", 75lbs sighthound, with a five inch tail with a kink in it, with a slightly bent neck!...looks a hell of a mess! The neck came good mate, and it hasnt stopped her killing what ever she wants, including raccoons and coyotes...she hasnt had the chance to run smaller game since though, maybe a jinking hare/rabbit would be hard for her!?...but i dont realy get the chance to run them anymore a

I wouldnt know to be honest mate, i know the house mains is less over here!?...maybe FR would be able to tell you?...the converter is just an old small grey plug type job that the wife had laying about...is there a special one i should get mate?...i will give FR a call and ask him to post some info on american stuff..thanks for your time mate. J..
-
Yeah mate, a Deben charger...it came with the battery pack?...should i be using another? J..
-
No worries FR mate, i just wanna get it sorted, so we can start well this season!...so BUMP, to get a few more looks!!!

Hi Rolly,.. Yeah, sounds like you are having the same problem im having,.. Re: The laws on taking game with lights are limited to dogs, and once the game is treed, THEN you can use the lamp....which is what we do...there are many states and countys in america that you ARE allowed to lamp, mostly the western states,....you can lamp in NV and WY etc.... We are always careful to obey the laws in regard to the hunting of game with dogs, and although there are a few grey areas, we stay well within the law, at ALL times...thanks for the heads up though... J,..

Hi Guys,.. We do most of our lamping out the Suburu, but sometimes we like to have a wonder when in the smaller fields etc.. I have a LazerLight, and when Ratkillah came over to visit, he very kindly fetched me over a 12V battery, the big one that is supposed to last 10hrs. Its never been left "run-down" and i have left it on charge (with a converter, because of the difference in plug sockets over here in the States!) for a few days, more than enough to fully charge. But when i use the lamp in the vehicle, it is on and off, like lighting, you turn it on, and bang, instant 1

lol...i know you would have as well you sod!..lol. A few weekends ago, me and FR was clearing some coon out, and i managed to scruff this small coon...FR goes to stick his head down the hole under some old tin sheeting, to see what else is going on, then spins around, looks at me holding the coon, smiling to myself, and he says to me.."Dont even f*****g think about it!"...lmao...

Them dogs sound tough to kill coon that quick Dan!...they must know there job...sometimes my dogs get them dealt with quick, other times it can be a little rough!...sound gritty dogs for sure mate. My dogs seem to deal with coon alot better if they are NOT wearing a collar, do you find that to be the case?...the coon seem to grab it, and the dog struggles to manouver into a better grip!?... J..

Dan, great job on getting some kids out mate...there the way forward for sure! I see what your saying about some places mate...some yotes seem SOOOO fast, while other look retarded!..lol...i think some places that even a good coursing greyhound would struggle to come to terms with some yotes...i often wonder how some of them realy well bred 100lbs+ greyhound from ireland would do on a yote!?... I dont want to sound like an exspert mate, coz thats the last thing i am...on ANYTHING!..LOL..you have killed more yotes than ive had hot dinners ive no doubt, so i dont want to sound cock sur
-
Dan, i fully agree that when Grace gets most things in her mouth, it will DIE!..LOL. But, imo mate, if you was running decent staghounds, you would only need TWO stags to kill a yote...most yotes are around 35lbs as you say, so two stags of roughly 70lbs, thats 140lbs of dog...140lbs Vs 35lbs!!!!...should be MORE than enough...when i get another Stag, i will have four dogs for yote...i have two at the moment, and the wife has one...so one more makes for a brace each side of a coyote truck/rig...i personaly wouldnt keep dogs that needed more than a brace to kill a single yote... Some

A KNIFE!...ffs!..lol. Why not just go the whole hog!?...you can work my Corner Doc, and i will just bring the Vale-Tudo short and my mouth guard...my high-croth is getting decent, and it cant be that different!...i mean a guy weighing 155lbs and 6-0", 'aint gonna be tougher than a 250-300lbs bear right?...as long as elbows are allowed on the ground, and its three minute rounds, NOT five minutes, count me in!... Jay..

Hi Mackem,.. Im sure a bear with a spear HAS been done...i mean, not many Holland and Hollands around for Cavemen eh!?..lol. Seriously though, im sure someone has done it, but ive not heard about it....i have two types of spear, one for throwing at short range (but can be used as a thrusting weapon) and i have one for sticking, but im sure a larger guy could chuck it a fair enough way...the handles are short though, only a few feet long... Who knows, i might get there and bottle it!..lol...and i wouldnt want to murder some poor little cub, that defies the object/purpose of it...
-
Man, Doc sure does live the life dont he!...jammy begger!..lol. I use mine for lamping, hunting at night (with no light), terrier work, like marking earths, catching bolters/drawing etc...use them on everything from squirrels, and rabbits and hares, to coyote and coon, and various other bits and bobs...great dogs, and i think they are very versatile. Jay..

Hey Doc.. Maybe when my young mate comes over again, we will have another road trip, this time though we will go south through OK, then TX, NM, AZ...maybe take him to Vegas for a weekend, then head up your way!...that would be some trip wouldnt it!..lol. Blister is doing well mate...missing half the fur on his face now, thanks to them pesky raccoons...man them claws can do some work..lol. All the best mate,.. Jay,.. PS...im sure if you do decide on a Grace x Blister litter, they would be mustard mate...with Blisters speed, stamina, and his nature sounds JUST LIKE Graces,
-
Man, if i could get a Minature version of either of them, i would!...pure belters!...they sure look the part...ive looked into Minature EBT over here, and they have so many health problems, and they didnt seem to have the temperament for what i wanted them for... Keep up the good work!.. Jay..
-
That bitch is very handy, never seen her in the flesh, but she is related to my Staghound bitch, "Tor"...'Grace' sire was a dog named 'Saker' who was a belly brother to my bitch....i know that 'Grace' is staghound x bull, and she has done a great job for her owner and is a fantastic dog to be around buy all accounts... IMO, what she needs is my 'Blister' dog hanging out the back of her two or three times, so i can get a male pup outta the breeding, then put him over my 'Tor' bitch, thus line breeding some bad-ass, kill-anything-there-pointed-at type of dogs that would suit me just fine!..

The gentleman that wrote the one called "A Yanks first year Working terriers" sadly passed away this last weekend...RIP Bill...happy hunting. Kye,..

I am fiercly proud to be British, and love my home country (cant stand the c**ts that run the place though, and the cess pit it has become) Everyone i have met over here, have welocmed me into there homes, sometimes having only known me five minutes, and have let me stay at there house, eat there food, drink there drink, and share tales...me being a totaly foreign STRANGER...i have never felt like an "outsider" over here hunting/fishing or in general... I cant say that for most of the people i know back home (or MYSELF for that matter!) would be the same way to foreigners!!!...i am a

Bad news mate...everyone i know who has lurchers/terriers has had it happen...ive not had a sighthound/terrier battle, but had it with terriers...never nice when it happens, but its the nature of the beast sometimes mate. Kye..

I honestly DONT think the size of a dog matters for smaller game like rats and rabbits, but do for bigger game. Most of the game i hunt these days can hurt your dog with teeth and claws and other means...its feck all to brag about, its just over here, summat is always trying to eat summat, so i guess thats how the animals have evolved!..lol..i wish i could go at the hares and rabbits like i used to, but they just 'aint here for me. Out the other night with FR and two Staghounds (big sighthound blooded Lurchers bred mainly for coyote) it was a full moon, no lamp, just out mooching abou

Royston, the dog in the pic above is the Cadno pup...we had been out that day on some new permission, and had a good craic, although it was hot as f**k. Driving back to FR's, we see a yote in the road, and it looked a little doppy!?...maybe the start of rabies/distemper?...who knows?...but as we got closer in the truck, it ran into a little patch of brush, so we looks at each other, and i say "Feck it, im gonna dump Cadno on it", and FR looks at me and just says "Do it!"...lol. So we dump the terrier out, and he can smell summats afoot straight away, and he is hunting around for it..

Gnasher, what you say is VERY true mate...my coach dosnt say "Right then, warm up with five minutes shadow boxing"...he hates the term shadow boxing...He says "Right, fight an imaginary opponent, i want head movement, and punches with 100% power behind them...KO the guy!"... You can look good on the bag/pads, or in front of the mirror (which our coach dont let us use at all!) but unless you spar, and spar hard, you wont ever get used to Combat,..imo. Jay.. PS...not saying im right, just what ive exseperianced!
-
Rolly, most people who use Lurchers over here dont even need a Lurcher!..lol..you dont need a Lurcher to catch coon/ground hogs, or for drawing..plenty of other breeds that could do that better... The pup will be fast enough for fox, coon, badger and all the other smaller game and it will take rabbits i should think...may even take the odd hare, or bigger faster game...maybe it wont catch a coyote, but i dont see why it wouldnt kill one?...just one way to find out i guess?...train/rear it up good, then hunt it on stuff!..lol. Kye..
-
Royston, if i was you mate, i would get that dog put over that bitch of yours...both from the same breeder, and that bitch is the best Beddie X ive seen...and that Blue dog dont look/sound like a slouch mate...maybe hook up and try and see the dog work Royston, would make good honest grafters, thats for sure! J..

Hi bc,.. Im not 100% sure, but thats what i was told buy a good friend of mine, and her husband goes to Africa real regular, and holds numerous world records for trophy animals taken with handguns...if Stabs reads this, its the place we took you in Arizona mate, the lady that showed us around her gun-shop mate...apparently the guy is banned from being a 'guide' now, because he provokes charges etc.. Kye..
