''Lurchers and Longdogs" is easily one of the best books ever written on the big dog...one of the first books i got, and on eof the FEW i kept going back too...realy a great book. Sad to hear he passed, sounded like a realy nice guy, and i would have loved to have talked to him in person...very sad indeed. Jay,..

Thanks guys,...ive been led on the sofa all day today, eating pumpkin pie and cream...lol...i dont have a truck today, otherwise i would have been at training today...one day off wont kill though. Man, i HAVE to improve my wrestling...i think that is my weakness now...they wrestle over here in school and college, and as you lads no, we dont in England...so i guess im playing catch-up!...im not making exscuses though, he beat me...im sure i will loose fights again in the future...but not for a while...i have bigger fish to fry! The next guy im fighting says he WANTS to stand with me...

f**k it,...i lost last night. I lost my first fight in the States, and then i went on a six fight winning spree, three wins via KO...it all came to an end last night. It was a re-match...against the guy i broke my hand on...it was only three, three minute rounds, and imo, thats where the down fall for me was...also, him being a wrestler, and in a small cage, no matter how i defended the shoot, we ended on the cage side....he was basicly in my guard the whole fight, and i was working subs as best i could...i spand for Omaplata's, Kimouras, even a knee-bar...just as i was finding my rythm

Ive heard from guys who have dug LOTS of them that they CAN be very rough, and buy rough, i mean ROUGH,...from my own exsperiance, the dig was very straight forward, although exciting...just because of the novelty of the fact...after the animal was dispacthed (it was pest control for the landowner) i almost felt gutted to be honest...i would sooner have put the thing in a barrel, drove 20 miles up the road, and let him go, but there are some VERY strange laws and regulations regarding that sort of the thing over here, so the animal was humanly dispatched,.. The one we had in the evening/l

A good working dog will like WORK over ANYTHING,...if i had a dog, that liked sitting on the sofa MORE than work, how the hell can you call that a worker? I have seen dogs babyd, dressed in cloths, fed from the table, allowed to drink out the bog, everything...and they have been demons at there task...whether they be terriers, sighthounds, hounds or Bull's... As long as a dog is kept clean, healthy, and fed right, with good well thought out entering/breeding, there is little you can do to make it 'make' the grade,..it will or it wont...to say that you will ruin it through over exsposur

Hi Jordon,.. If you want some advice mate, i would NOT go crazy with the training of these types of dogs...bonding is WAY more important...they will never be like a collie/greyhound mate, and to exspect them to be is un-fair...but neither should you let them get away with everything!..lol. If i was you, i would concentrate on just a few things...mainly stock breaking, and a good SOLID re-call...once you have the re-call, everything else just falls into place...retreaving etc, etc...mine are taught to carry back, although most of the stuff they now catch is awkward, if not impossible to c

Im not that fond of small terriers...but for teh style of work i like, bitchs around 13-14" and 16-18lbs, dogs 14-16" and 18-23lbs...having said that we have a 10"-10lbs white bitch and a 17" 20lb pup in our yard at the moment...feck knows how big the pup will fill out...maybe put the fecker over a Staghound bitch..lol. Kye,..

Man six months seems awful young to me...especially if it went at it hard as nails!?...you can sicken much older pups with a good work ethic on them coons...each to there own though...good luck for the future. Kye,..

I dont think she is better mate...all three stags work the head/neck...its just when doubled up, they will find another place, and both bitchs pictured can be very possesive of there game...they respect each others personal space, lets put it that way!..lol...i only like to run them doubled up early on in the season, and this season should see some coyote work for them, so im trying to get them more used to each other when working toothed critters...my male works real nice with the white bitch, but the brindle can be a little hot, and to be honest is better worked alone...but the poor bugger i

Got out with famous NASCAR driver (F.R) last night for a shine and a look around...we have one of FR's old digging buddies coming here for a few days next week, and we got young RatKilla coming over real soon, so we decided to have a butchers, and see what was moving...a nice cold front was causing the game to move and we lucked out big time... We usulay start around 11.00pm, and dont get much until the 1.00am mark, then the shit realy hits the fan, and we usulay run outta dogs buy then!..lol. But last night we got out early, and had quite a few 'first's' for our team,... We had '

My first running dog in America (which i still have) i got him for big game, like Coyotes etc...he has turned out to be one of the best rabbit/hare dogs i have seen, he has taken 2/3 day time hares in some of the worst terrain on the planet for a running dog, single handed, and is a GREAT lamp dog...ive had 17 hares and six rabbits with him on the lamp, in one night...the only reason i stopped was because of weather...he didnt even have his tounge out...not realy built for rabbits (29" and 75lbs) but his strike is great, and he carries back great... Kye,..
