  1. Simon, if im reading this right your wanting to fly on weekends only and man the bird for an hour on a night?!? yes? If this IS the case then it is possible but it isnt ideal. The thing with flying on a weekend is all it takes is some rain one weekend and your bird doesnt get out for two weeks, Rain on two weekends and/or your lass wants to go shopping and its three weeks........Good intentions are blown out the window! Plus manning the bird at the start to get it trained takes many hours! But if you push on and go for it, it is possible, and you may well get some good sport, though your bir
  2. are you chief hiawatha HAHA!!! Him speak like indian, him called big chief clint.
  3. Would loved to have seen that! i was out at a corn silo once and the sheet walls had holes in them roughly the size of a 2p piece about 5 inch up all the way along the bottom. In all the holes all you could see was a mouses arse! They had obviously crawled through the holes to get the corn but had eaten too much and got stuck going back again!
  4. great photo! I saw that with my neighbour, they bought a squirrelproof feeder just like that one and the same day a squirrel just slipped between the bars and shimmied round the feeder - priceless!

  7. I arent going to show anyone how to moletrap. I put a thread on here a bit back when someone phoned me and asked me if i would show them , i said yes but during the course of the conversation he told me he was going to moletrap for free to get permission so i told him politely to feck off. Moling is the majority of my pestwork and it rattles my cage when people do it for free. For the record I most certainly am not an expert, and would never make out im an expert, but im a bloody good moletrapper.
  8. Is this site your own mick?
  9. Bad luck mate. Real sorry.
  10. £10 per hole. Mole trappings a sport now so people will often do it for free, I would love some trapping permission. Sorry i was taking the pisss, id had half a bottle of wine at that point and it made me laugh! Ha, I was starting to worry there! Moling can be a real ball-ache! Its time consuming, back breaking and my fingers get so cold ive been close to tears! I read that and was thinking surely no-body could do it as a sport as its anything but fun in the winter! LOL

Rainman, was she freelofting? where abouts are you in britain? . Was she wet when you put her away this particular occasion? please give details as im interested to here about this condition. Ive been doing some reading about it lately. Thanks
  13. Just thought i would take this opportunity to say that as of now my garden has been totally dug over and weeded and ive just bought a rotavator. My garden will be super-dee-duper this year, so all you allotmenteers- get your fingers out! Ive just planted some rhubarb and getting ready for some other stuff to go in soon. Im thinking of growing asparagus, anyone got experience?
  14. Think i will go down this weekend. Im fancying a cherry tree or three. Top man.
  15. Just a bit of a rant. I was listening to the radio today and inbetween some stupid DJ with an ego the size of switzerland and some dodgy black rapper "singing" some drivel there was the usual adverts, but every one was a government advert advising me about something! What the feck is this all about? who pays for it? and the worst thing was it was so condecending! An advert on some contraception injection, an advert on stopping smoking with some annoying kids singing "i'll do anything", an advert on getting checked for chlymidia, an advert about climate change and by driving to work the world
  16. Nice one mate!!! What falcon are you getting? Mate, Im not in a position to have a hawk and commit fully at the moment still!, so im still flying my mates, which means he gets the bird flown and i get to fly without the hassle! lol, best of both worlds!!!!! Seriously, i could buy one tomorrow but because i cant commit fully just yet and i hate to see birds kept in aviaries and not flown with passion. I would love nothing more than to buy one now but it would be patronising for me to do so. Ive slagged too many falconers off who just keep one in an aviary and never fly one to do the same!
  17. Bloody hell, its getting heated here tonight!!!
  18. Legally its large enough but ethically you would be pushing it. Can you put some form of extension/weathering over more ground? You need to remember that the bird will be locked in here during the summer months and she will need some space. I personally would say 8x10ft would be minimum if your serious but ive seen smaller.
  19. He is sadly missed. His stories were so full of life and details. That and he was as mad as a hatter!
  20. The rougher side in, smooth out, but the rougher side , once it has been treated isnt rough, its soft and pliable. hope this helps.
  21. Sorry, i dont understand, what do you mean mate?
  22. Total con! he and his spin doctors know they are f****d at the next election so they are changing the way to vote in a last ditch attempt to get in. tossers.
  23. Blair was a piss poor PM, Brown is now a piss poor PM. Labour wouldnt have got in if England voted alone. The whole ethos for labour is spin, spin, spin and it works! The fundamental problem is that Scotland has a inbred dislike for conservatives coming from the thatcher era, plus half of scotland and the north east of england are brain dead when it comes to politics (im from the north east so im not having a go at someone else), its often a case of "my parents voted labour, their parents voted labour so im voting labour" when they havent got a clue. On top of this, voters who err to the ri
