    Another fact for you - 82% of the trade between Russia and the USA is imports from Russia into USA. Much of that is food ...... Does this somewhat explain the issue globally and why no one wants to sanction Russia too much. Grain is often more powerful than bombs. Yea immigration is an issue but as has happened throughout history, it’s better for the powers that be if you are focusing on one bright shiny problem abs missing the f***ing great big slightly boring disaster looming ahead.

    It was a joking response to the same tired route we started to go down whilst trying to talk about lowered food production / raised importation in the current climate. Did you know that between Russia and the Ukraine they export over 25% of the total wheat consumed globally ?

    And there in lies the problem. Whether you realise it or not, they have made you obsess over a single issue, to the point where you ignore all of the others. Immigration is a huge problem I agree, but it is a symptom of the main problem rather than the problem itself. Fight to fix the problem, not merely fight against the symptoms. Also don’t take this the wrong way, but you do make every conversation about the same thing ?

    It does but for me the simple thing is this. We can’t produce enough food to feed everyone here (however they got here), and we are currently reducing how much food we produce. No food = big problems. Or alternatively = control.

    I’m not even talking about building mate. The new Elms scheme means that the government are paying for and actively encouraging the reduction in food production across our farmland. We are rapidly selling off all of our farm land to rich celebs and London knob heads, so they can reduce their tax bill, and then get paid loads more money for not producing any food. The Gov has actively said that it wants to phase out all livestock farming over the next twenty years. The plan is to import the food instead.

    To be fair mate it’s partly both. But that is totally immaterial really mate, and this is my point. Im saying - we have more people, less food production land and are looking to import out food which is unviable long term. The issue that’s really important is the food production element. The Government is pushing us to reduce the amount of food we produce, and in fact paying folk to produce less. But what we are now debating is immigration etc. Which despite being an important factor is not the whole picture at all. Always remember that the governments best way to

    Charts said something earlier about the price of food going up. We have a growing population, are an island, are taking vast swathes of land out of food production for retarded rewilding schemes, and raping the soil on much of the rest of the land.... and relying on importing our food instead, in a world with rising oil costs, a climate crises, and from countries which are becoming massively environmentally and politically unstable. Makes total sense to me!

    I totally get it mate I was taking the piss ? For the record though I wasn’t talking about Africa. The general point I was making is the motivation for war or no war is not about looking out for people or countries, or about moral codes or owt like that. It is usually a cost / reward exercise. Fighting an equal power like Russia has way way to high costs and little reward.
