  1. The Aussie Kelpies I’ve seen working on stations (same goes for NZ) were totally different to most of the dross I’ve seen in the uk. Mind you most collies I’ve seen are also shite!
  2. Don’t you start. You know what I run and how they run ?
  3. They’d probably be right as well. But, I don’t think it is contentious really (to say either ). I probably see more Kelpies, Huntaways, collies and other herders than most folk on here I would think ? And very few are impressive. That could be said of most breeds of working dogs though, most of them are very average. A good example would be one of the estates I run sheep on. There are four of us with working stock dogs on the estate. There is Me with my gang of collies, that can do anything needed with any type of stock. And then the other three all have Kelpies, one lad h
  4. I know you’re a big Kelpie fan and I understand why. All I’m saying is they are one of those breeds which people think are ‘cool’ to have as your work dog. And in reality lots of the ones I’ve seen hve been shite. Yes hat is mostly probably down to training and handling, but also probably breeding.
  5. Two observations - 1 - people want the ‘wild’ in their animals, they think it makes them edgy. EU polecats being a good example. 2 - lots of Kelpies are yappy, scatty wastes of space, not wonder dogs from afar.
  6. Tried to PM you but no joy. If it’s still available I would be keen.
  7. We now have an obsession with the ‘wild’ in our domestic animals. But for a very very long time we wanted nothing to do with it. People forget that.
  8. ? great minds think alike ?
  9. Unless your asleep in a tent on the plains of Africa.
  10. Because throughout history a small % of the population have controlled the rest through lies, miss information, propaganda, bribery and bullying.
  11. f**k me have a day off ? Pure comedy gold ?
  12. Do you ever just once think something isn’t all about race ??
  13. It’s all to do with world trade and exchange rates. NZ lamb used to come here and keep our prices down, but China killed half its pigs, and China had 25% or more or the entire worlds pig population. China now takes nz lamb. So you’re stuck with our lamb which is now being paid for fairly, what it’s worth. The pig job has been buggered so there isn’t an export market so there are 1000s of pigs looking for somewhere to go, we also import a lot of cheap pork, factory stuff and have a market for all of the poor cuts because we eat so much sausage etc. Beef we also import a lot which keeps prices d
  14. You can draw what ever conclusions you like. I won’t debate it as it’s not worth it. I don’t think many governments hate anyone, but they do seem to think we are stupid.
  15. I get that. But what do you think will happen when basic food stuffs become unattainable for many ......?
  16. So all western leaders ‘Hate’ white Europeans? Just checking I got it right.
  17. It’s more than just sanctions, it’s the bigger picture. I know I harp on about it a lot but I genuinely think on not too many years we are going to get a horrible shock when food starts to get short. Then things will get nasty. When things like wheat have already doubled in cost, fert has gone up five times in cost, lamb has doubled etc etc and we are rapidly removing areas of food producing land from the system ..... and relying on importing it all, whilst trying to mitigate climate problems and deal with various nations political instability ......
  18. Out of curiosity what do tiny mean by “people like me”. I’m interested in how you perceive yourself.
  19. I’m gluten free too mate. But if a normal loaf is £3-£4, that will make one of ours a score ?
  20. How would the £3 loaf of bread make people think about things ?
  21. Why didn’t we get involved when previously would be another question ?
  22. Hands up. Who here only reads / watches the news when it’s on Facebook ?
