I think he would have been in the 18kg area. He wasn’t the fastest of whippets, obviously really fast but not like a non ped race dog, but would hunt all day or run all night. Did some really good bags and was out all of the time all over the country.

So if it’s a bull x bred out of proper game bred Pitt’s at the start of the line it will be a liability ? And if it’s not a liability then it’s a Lurcher bred out of Pet bulls ? -
She is old, fat and sassy and is now retired with my folks in Wales. Down here we don’t have the country for her, she’d have ended up hit on a road. So her retirement consists of eating, finding hedgehogs in the garden and taking them to my mum to put in a kennel to hibernate ? (they have a bit of a collection for release in spring) and getting let loose on the estate to rattle round the woods.

So what you’re saying is that unless it’s a total liability around all life forms, then it isn’t a game bred Pitt bull. If for example a Pitt bull did not kill the chickens in the yard then it isn’t game bred and will be no good for it’s intended job. Interesting. Does that go the same for bull x Lurchers to, that it isn’t a proper animal unless it wants to nail everything it sees ? -
21.5” TTS 22 if he stretched ? And I think he weighed just shy is 20kg, I think but could be wrong. He punched far above his weight and both retired and died too young.

Mate, I’m not a f*cking retard, I know what game bred Pitt bulls are used for. So every game bred Pitt, cannot be ever let near any other canine, because it automatically just takes hold and tries to kill it, regardless of how that dog is acting, what type it is or anything else ? I don’t overly want to get into an argument about how psychotic game bred putts may or may not be. But my limited understanding was that it is about physical dominance and being top dog. They might have a hair trigger but they aren’t all lunging at any and every dog they see wanting to kill it. -

I like it for biddablity, loyalty, ease of training, running style, intelligence, nose ...... as well as the grit and determination. I like a sensible bull x to a point. -

You do realise lots of folk use bull for other reasons than just being hard / game? Having said that I don’t think you will find a x with the same level or drive and determination when the chips are down. -
He was pick of the litter off Mike mate.

To be fair it’s a very small amount of bull and I wouldn’t be looking to the bull anyway. I’ve got a dog bred similar and it’s the bit of collie in her that makes her a narky twat. All of the bull xs I’ve had have been out and out killers and yet sound with her dogs. The big dog I lost start of this season was a lump, I remember one day a terrier ran up and locked onto his neck, he stood there looking a bit confused ? eventually lost his patience and tossed the terrier ? hard dog but not a twat. -

Out of interest, what was your motivation when you were just out your teens buying imported scatty “game bred” pit bulls? -

So if you’re 27” bull x nails a terrier it’s game ? pull the other one mate. Just like it don’t take a game dog to kill a fox. Gameness to me is going into a situation where you’re gonna get hurt and maybe get beat, but you go into it head first with a smile ? not throwing something smaller than you around me. I know a few game bred bulls and they can be walked down the street on a lead no muzzle, be out and about the yard with other dogs etc. Sure if it kicks off they are going to finish it, but they aren’t diving across the yard to kill any dog it sees. That’s not gAmeness, that’s being -
Very good memory, I did indeed post a video about ten years ago of him running next to that quad in the photo above when I was keepering. He was some dog. One day I’ll have another, I have so many fond memories of the dog, he did things I didn’t expect from a whippet, took fox and deer etc. And Christ we caught some rabbits.
