The thing is this war has been rumbling on for a long time. It’s just got a lot more overt all of a sudden. The eastern Ukraine has been a pretty wild place for about 8 years, with Ukrainian army and militias fighting Russian separatist militias and army and then Ukrainian army and militias struggling to get along etc. Lots of bombs and bullets flying about. And about 10,000 people killed. Up till now we haven’t really been overly bothered.

Yes very true. Basing it upon the fact that wilf is mostly referring to European troops when seen on the ground in Europe during various ‘troubles’. In those kinds of situation identity hiding isn’t a bad thing. Hence our armed police wear them, and the sas started wearing them in the 80s when they started carrying out tactical attacks. And obviously there’s the fear factor when you can’t see faces people are less human.

Which way are you trying to argue ? You started off saying Russia was great because they weren’t afraid to kill folk they didn’t like or agree with in any country. And now UK and USA are bad because they wreck countries got their own gains ? I don’t like how our gov or the USA do things but I’m just confused what you’re actually trying to argue

To be fair we have a far better record when you look at our underhanded actions, compared to when you look at our direct military intervention

Doing things behind the scenes is mostly far more effective and deadly than marching in like billy big bollocks. Historically Russia don’t actually have a great record in the play book to be fair ........

Where did that number come from out of interest ? I’m fairly sure it’s more like 245,000 plus reservists. Or maybe it’s 245,000 with reservists ? Either way o can’t imagine two days in they are down to some old woman with molotovs.
