  7. my mate has one pure and it's quick and kills good but it's a prick of a dog to talk to really aloaf sometimes, just stays where it is and dosent even hunt with us goes the other way, but it's not bad (looks like a sheep lol) and he's got a second litter out of it from a big staghound on the ground at the moment mum 9 month old first litter brother looks ten times better there big animals but stands at 32inches the mum
  8. what are the animals you dig to over there and could you show pictures of each, cheers
  9. had abit of discussion on an australian forum recently about jagd versus jrts as a versital hard dog in other words works dens and hunts above ground for all animals, alot of poeple siad things like "then why arnt they used in england" and similar things id just be keen to hear some other opinions in comparison to other breeds and what themselves are like in terms of obidience and working fox and bushing cheers
  10. staghound x whip but striaght stags are good not a fan of grey 1st cross cant turn and thats what foxes are renound for
  11. why dont you swap your dogs for some ones that wont go to ground im sure you could have sold them for a fiar bit if there really that good all your doing is wasting a good dogs potenial if your after somthing that will just walk around in the bushes im sure you could pick one of them up off the side of the road.

  13. rabbits localy bout 5 wether i put in 3 hrs or an hr occasionaly hit a fox mabey every ten trips but when i get away i usallly come back pretty happy mabey 15-20 bunnines a night and we only catch enough for a feed and give a pup the run usally a hare or two and a couple foxes and a few of whatever runs in front aswell. do better in the day locally on the foxes once every four times i go out but only catch mabey two three bunnies but thats everytime i go out
  14. what age do you think an dog hits its prime iv heard physically its at its best at about 2-3
  15. out of interest sake is he retirving that fox theres not many dogs iv seen do that and they usally stand 30 plus inches high. or there spring cubs
  16. dont want to hijack but mark just wanted to let you know im giving that small bitch to my mum and im keeping that 9 month old he's pretty tough hes tryed to kill the ferrets a few times lol he'll be a good dog by the end of next year
  17. well then brains and loyalty would have to rate highly on siad dog so some of the key breeds would have to be a working dog or whippet i think it would be hard to find a good allrounder with out ethier breed being in there and thinking back on it i dont think my pure stag was up to standards, i wish there were some good collie crosses in australia id love to get my hands on one they'd proberly have to be breed abit tougher so possibly kelpie or bearded collie or acd but they'd go well with abit of stag blood in there
