  1. AYA Yeoman 12G SBS non-ejector, with 28" barrels that are choked 1/4 & 1/2. Bores are perfect, no pitting at all, gun is nice and tight overall and shoots well. Gun looks well used, has a lovely patina but no nasty dents. knocks, scrapes. Just a good old honest Yeoman with years of life left. Offers around £120. Ring/text Jim 07887 755179. Based Lincs, near Horncastle. Certificate holders, face to face only please. Would consider swap for a .410 or a leather Brady cartridge bag, Brady game bag or Brady gunslip suitable for 30" O/U
  2. Camrosa ordered, on its way and she's been on tripe since Sat, no more cereals, thanks for your advice. Will post a follow up when anything changes.
  3. The dog was on bakers complete when the trouble started, came off that onto iams on vets advice. She's had a dose of ivermectin too. My lad hasn't tried her on a meat only diet, a good friend has recommended putting her on a unwashed tripe diet to see if that improves things. Sound advice? Btw, she always seems hungry and gains no weight despite eating plenty. The sores are not wet, but the dog reeks awful even a few minutes after being bathed. Atb
  4. The pics are of my lads 9 mth old JRT bitch. She was fine until about 3 mths, then started with a sore patch on top of her head. She's been taken to the vet A LOT and has had tests for mites, mange, has been treated for ringworm, shes also had steroids (prednisolone) which is what shes on at the moment. Also the vet recommended a change of diet to iams dry food which shes been on for a couple of months now. None of this has made any improvement at all and as you can see she is a real mess. What else can the lad try?
  5. Yes, some of it looks like that, it's gone down a lot since I first posted and I've tried the bath/salts thing too, she seemed a bit happier after that. Thanks for all your advice, much appreciated.
  6. Some of them are raised pus spots, some look like there's a small black dot in the middle which I'm assuming are the heads of thorns. It all looks bloody sore to me.
  7. Took my patterdale bitch bush beating over the last couple of days, she did really well flushing game from very thick cover mainly brambles. She is covered in bramble scratches and has loads of raised spots that look like they have small thorns in them, but there's not enough of them to pull them out. A lot of them are weeping. I've put some sudacrem on but am wondering if there's anything else I should/could be doing to make her more comfortable and help the healing process? Thanks for any advice.
  8. Just wanted to say, got taken out last night by an experienced hunter to watch him lamping with his lurcher. First time I've ever seen a lurcher run & catch, was an awesome experience, just fantastic and a night I'll remember for a long long time. A real privilege. THANK YOU
  9. Hi, advertising for a friend at work who is pretty gutted: Near Panton, Lincolnshire (LN8) KATIE, a female black Patterdale approx 10 years old, retired worker, missing since 28th May. Coarse coat, white hairs around her eyes. Is microchipped. Disappeared whilst out on a walk. Any info at all please to 07890 603539 or to doglost.co.uk PICS:
  10. Hi I had this problem with my boxer - not a small dog but the same issue. He did his in running across a ploughed field before being fully warmed up i.e. just at the start of a walk. He limped badly until I had it repaired by a local vet. Not a small procedure and very expensive (£800) but he was insured. After the op, he needed rehabilitating by 3 weeks at home, no walks, no strain on the leg, then short walks - 1 week @ 100 yards, 1 week @ 200 yards and so on, gradually up to 1 mile by which time he was fit enough to do the other side in. Another £800 op and further rehab and h
  11. Here's a few of my young 'un - 9 mths old, 12" TTS, easily spannable. Nuttal lines. Show us yours !
  12. My first dog was a german shepherd, then got into rough shooting and got an old lab bitch that had been used by a gundog breeder as a brood bitch but she knew more about shooting than me and we had some great outings on the small permission i had at the time. Her hips got really bad but god you should have seen her light up when i went to the gun cabinet and got the o/u out. Then another lab, still got him but he's 15 now, and a brindle boxer who wants to beat everything up he meets. Then one day i went to the local terrier races and was bowled over by these little black terriers that were
  13. The pecking order thing does seem to make sense, the patterdale is 7 months old now and has been getting a lot of attention. We have 3 dogs, a 14 yr old lab, the boxer and the patt. In the pecking order the boxer was top dog until the patt came along, as soon as she grew past the small puppy stage she started playing rough with both of the others, eventually she's established herself as quite dominant over them. She's confident and very cocky for example she will bite the boxer on his chops until he's properly going for her and then she runs rings around him, barking - almost as if she's wi
  14. My 5 yr old boxer dog is getting more aggressive for some reason. He used to be everyone's mate and would be fine with other dogs too. Now, he pulls like crazy to get at any other dog, if the other dog barks or growls in return he goes mental to try and get it. The kids used to be able to walk him but he's so unpredictable now they don't dare as he can pull them straight over (And has, to attack another dog). The only time he has ever had an bad experience with another dog was when he was a pup he was bitten on the scruff of the neck by a terrier. He was fine with other dogs for years aft
  15. Haven't really thought about wind but many times it's been blowing pretty hard when we've been out. She does it pretty much every time we go (every night). I have noticed she does it more when we go further, the usual length of the walk is 2 to 3 miles on weekdays due to work, but at weekends it's 4 to 6 miles, sometimes more.
