  2. Cheers Phil - you're a gent'. I'll pm you now. When they arrive, I'll do a side by side comparison of all 3 to see if there's any difference If there's enough, I may even do the 'Bit o' wood' test
  3. Nice headshot there jon.Thas what I didn't understand about the polymags. I had a couple of maggies and a woody from 30 yards max and it was lights out and then the 2 runners the next day. It was a shame as my barrel liked them. I reckon I probably had that pigeon at max range for the pellet - due to the way the pellet slows and how small the pigeons skull is. I know runners aren't great but, if we didn't try new things, we'd still be hunting with stones and slings

  5. Lik Paul said, pictures are always good If you don't know how to put them on, send them to me, I'll put them up for you. Atb
  6. Cheers Dave I'm an early riser mate - my eyes pop open at around 4am and, that's me up for the day - even if I've been on the sauce the night before
  7. ........ This one fell foul of the Polymags last year He landed on an rsj right above my target as I was finishing a 40yrd grouping test
  8. That's not good but, I can see how that could happen - like the Baracuda Hunter Extreme, I don't think sub 12 gives enough velocity for these to hit and expand as intended. I do like testing pellets but, I've yet to find anything that comes close to a good ol' lead diablo.
  9. I'm not sure which one's Si ordered but, as Phil says, they come in the regular length and Shorts. I haven't got any Polymag Shorts left to compare.
  10. Good purchase My .22 TX200hc is my favourite. .... Give me a shout if you want the short stroke extension. It's easy to fit and it speeds up the shot cycle Atb
  11. Bearing in mind how the Polymags performed before, I decided to push a target out to 50yrds. Again, the groups opened out. I guess I could attribute a little of the movement to wind around the trees down range but, to be honest, I think the design of the Polymags and Metalmags makes the pellet unstable as it slows. The Metalmags were hitting the steel plate behind my target hard - there was a different sound to a regular lead diablo - I reckon these could make an awesome squirrel basher out to 40yrds Also, I think they'd be very useful at FAC velocities
  12. Si recently sent me a sample of these to try - Cheers Si These are the metal tipped version of the Polymags and, they look like nasty little buggers. The .177 Polymags worked well for me out to 40yrds in my old HW100kt but, at beyond 50yrds, they were all over the place. It got me wondering if the slightly heavier nose on the Metalmags would help them fly straighter for longer I took the Impact GSX100, a bunch of targets, the Metalmags and, the bonus .177 H&N Sniper Lights that Si also sent down to Black Cat today....... The weather was pretty good - dry, not cold and, a
  13. A few more details might help it sell mate
  14. It happens mate ...... I'd be pissed of with myself to If it's any consolation, I've had nights like that when my zero was bang on
  15. They're really nice rifles I had a go on one at the club a couple of weeks ago and I was well impressed
  16. Because it wasn't just violence that effected only those involved. There'll be a lot of occasions where it spilled over and effected people that were uninvolved in one way or another and, I guarantee that at the time, those perpetrating those acts couldn't give a f**k who they effected. It's very basic biochemical psychology at its worst.
  17. It's not about kids that scare easily. It's about the full grown blokes that harbour some romantic notion of football hooliganism when, the truth is, they were bang out of order. Innocent people would get caught up in their crap, people were assaulted, pubs (someones livelihood) would be trashed, cars would be damaged etc - all a knock on effect of someones match day alcohol/drug fueled 'fun'. Of course a boy can be prepared for a bit of noise and language but, violence and disorder? No romantic notion here, I will hold my hands up to what I did, but I don't see it as a romantic noti

  20. I saw it myself at the old Elm Park rd ground in Reading and at the Den when I was a kid.
  21. Agreed. I'm pushing 40 and I've never seen anything like this
  22. Really? What about when the grounds were emptying and the mob mentality kicked in and the bottles, stones and fists began to fly? It still ruined the day for normal people because a few knobheads had to get stuck in to a pissing contest.
