Lesson be learnt... don't have a dog with collie blood in it, atleast your doing the right thing atb with the rehoming should make someone a good rabbiting partner

A few years back the rspca stapled printouts on telegraph poles in a local village near me asking for anyone to contact them if they see anybody walking a lurcher that looked like it had Staffordshire bull terrier in it.

They know nothing about the welfare of dogs or any other animal infact, just look what they did with the golden eagle, Roy Lipton offered to take it off there hands and re enter it tobthebwild yet they refused him, it died a week later, nothing else got said about that

That's the Bitch iv kept back she's very easy going took to the collar and lead first time, fine around horses after seeing them for the first time, good in the van and good with traffic, So far so good, the bitch my brothers kept back is the opporsite, hates the lead and collar doesn't like walking anywhere on it, and it's nuts

A good mate of mine has a beddy whippet grey stands at about 22" well into retirement now been trying to pursuade him to mate him to a good bitch, my god did we have some good nights with that dog back in our early teens, as tough as old boots he was

Don't get me wrong sometimes it doesn't take a rocket scientist to spot the difference. Etween a young dog that's going to be a single handed tondog to a young dog thats going to be a jacket, usually get an idea after one or two

I think that's always been the case mate just like the wrecking crew, how many runs do they not show? There's runs on there dvds that I think dogs iv had before the ban would catch and there's foxes I don't think my dogs would catch that there dogs do catch, morale of the story every dog has off days just like everything else but itsbdown to the owner to understand this and give the dog the benefit of the doubt, can't stand people that cull a dog before it's 18 months old a good mate of mine once had a collie bull greyhound bred out of a real hard bull grey dog to a hancocks collie grey bitch

Thanks for the reply, an old boy I know who's messed about with terriers lurchers and spaniels for over 50 years told me that there's no such thing a true working clumber now as the working climber of today is made up of a lot of cocker spaniel blood, don't know if this is true?? I just thought that sometimes the cocker is abit too nutty for some and sometimes the climber is abit too slow for some so maybe if a mating went to plan you could maybe get the inbetween, a fastish spaniel that goes into any cover but finds more than your average cocker. Atb

Although being around gundogs all my life iv only ever owned 1 which was a tiny cocker bitch to worker under my old goshawk, so I'm a novice with the gundogs, a mate of mine is thinking about mating his cocker dog over his columber bitch, the cocker is tiny dog that's really fast and will go through any cover, the clumber is again a really small bitch fairly fast for a clumber but a lot steadier than a cocker she will also go through any cover that any cocker spaniel would but with her being steadier she doesn't miss anything! The question I'm asking is does anyone have any experience with thi

Good dogs should be treated with the upmost respect and fed the right stuff a bad dog should be treated the same until the day comes when you sort it out, I personally prefer the pts method the only dog iv ever past on was gifted to a freind because she was perfect for what he wanted to do. I'd never sell an older dog let alone a bad one. If people want to stand by their dog wether it's good or bad then fair play to them but I don't work like that if I have a dog that isn't upto doing the job it was bred to do then it has to go

Anybody running any poachers pocket stuff at the minute? I had a bitch directly from Phil years ago,a bitch he's kept back made 24" and was a big solid thing good bitch on rabbits and didn't mind a few other things but wasn't the best just wondering others have found them
