It’s going to be 31 Celsius today, so I decided to get up early and go do a local burrow before it got to hot, managed to get a few. I only took young Fleet out with me, and he continues to improve.

Almost done, just have to bolt the box's on the back, cut the mesh gates for the top opening, and the new breeding bank is finished.

This week I was contacted by Anna via social media, she asked if I could take her nephew James out ferreting before the end of his school holidays, as he was keen to see what it was all about. I changed a few plans, and said I would come out for a few hours in the morning, before going fishing that afternoon. This is the video of my day including the morning ferreting and a few hours fishing. Enjoy Guy’s

I took the three dogs out today to do a couple of burrows around a dam I know, the weather was pretty hot, so I decided to stick close to the water to keep the dogs cool, and I could keep good lookout for snakes as well. It was another great day out, and the dogs worked well, I was very happy with young Fleet in particular (now 8 mths old) who continues to get better every time I take him out. Below are a few snaps from today.

Plenty of good videos online on how to teach dogs to listen, what works for one doesn't always work for all, watch a few methods and one will work for you, just be patient, repetition and positive reinforcement is key imo. pup here is 8 month old, notice how the older bitch responded to one mention of her name.

Just a couple of picks of Fleet now 7 1/2 months old 20 tts at the moment and will make about 22 when done, great nature and coming along fine, loves his work, should be a cracker in another year or so.
