    Its just a 8 X 2 piece of plywood coated in weather proof clear coat or the ply will swell when raining haven't changed it yet in over a year because it doesn't need it

    They make no noise but chitter when excited by you don't hear it from indoors and for cleaning I keep my ferrets in a 8 X 2 chicken run and coop with wooden floor covered with hay and just pull out the hay at the far end every week as they shit in the same place.

    Mate you even said yourself your dog wouldn't be up for a few fox's. To me your dog is not much use but I bet if you tried a racey bull X they would surprise you not all bull xs are big slow heavy things get one with a drop of bull and they will do most jobs bar being a fen dog.

    Usually yes a experienced dog with one that's not seen nothing but even 2 novice dogs should kill a fox between them. And for the other half of your post at least we agree on something and aslong as they do what YOU want them for then everything is good and well.

    Doubling up on a dogs first fox is what most lads do. Somebody else has already said it but you must of not been listening so I'll repeat it. All the time, effort and training In the world will not make a dog like teeth they either have it in them or they aint. Heart is one of the things you can't train into a dog. If what your saying was the case I could pick any lurcher and turn it into a top notch fox dog which everyone will tell you is bullshit and untrue.

    If someone wants to wait 2 years to try a dog all good and well but what if at 2 years it don't take them alot of time wasted imo but I suppose if you are dead set on a certain type of X not much is going to change your mind

    Dogs were into their second season so both at least near on 3 he didnt have them for fox just rabbits but the dogs don't know that an to me they are culls. Pj you don't seem to know much every dogs is inexperienced till it's had its first ain't it?

    Alot of people have said the deerhounds lack bottle and its hard to find a collie grey that been tested on more then small edibles. I went out with a old boy I met through a lad I been ferreting with n the old boy was saying how his collie Grey's were proper dogs so we went out for a day n these pair of dogs could really hunt they caught a brace of pheasants and a couple rabbits in a hour or so anyways on the way back to the car a fox was trotting across a field n the dogs took off after it they got there one took a nip n done a runner the other barked at the fox from about 2 foot away fox jus

    Sounded like he was a good dog for you and I'm not saying some won't be good ones But there will be a reason for the decline in them as if they were better then what is about today they would be about in good numbers still but they ain't so what do you think that tells you?
