    I prefer shin beef myself but tonight's was braising steak ....still nice mind. shin is as reasonable price too which helps cheep cuts aren't so cheep anymore since the advent of bistro/gastro pubs that made them trendy. There all good cuts in my eyes some just need a little more love but often turn out better than the expensive cuts if done right... Something our grandparents and before understood as they didn't have much choice most of the time. true cheep cuts are the best I think me mother usually puts in breast of mutton in hers but I do love a bit of shin as well !

    Maybe one day in the terrier men of the future (whatever hunting with terriers takes in the future) might think the way we graft our dogs today is wrong .

    I work 6 days a work recently and long hours as well so fitting the dogs in is hard I know. So what I do is I'm up and out with them before I go to work then back home. Then Mrs marshman walks then to to meet my daughter from the bus in the afternoon. Then when I get home I'm usually bollocked by then I put them on a treadmill for a few Mile in the garage while I have a brew . That's it until Sunday for a bit of graft , sometimes when work eases up a bit ill get out a bit more !

    When times are tight financially a lot more dogs get dumped especially breeds like westies that have a lot of skin complaints and cost money .

    I don't breed but the last 6 dogs I I've had 4 haven't made it into the second season through cowardice . Looking back , hindsight a 20/20 lol I know , but looking back the 4 that didn't make I can see a link between the quality of the terrier mans stockmanship and their failures . Yeah there was a chance like as in most litters that you'd get lucky and get a worker as they where bred from workers . to my knowledge the 4 that failed litter brothers and sisters never amounted to much either . Now the two that I've got now I can see the difference in the men that bred them and their yards and

    For me , and I'm sure if other men on here If they think about the good uns they've had , that there's something about them from the start !! And I don't just mean an early starter I mean from when it's starts to graft at . A good man can make a average terrier better . but a good un shows from the start and will get even better with graft ! And it doesn't matter how good a terrier man is or patient he is he'll never make a shitehouse a good un lol
