Well done mate, Mackerel bit scarce at the moment hope they come back with the big tides. As for them bloody seals they are every where now, think thats why we don't get many Plaice now. If any body is going to Hopes Nose or Berry Head Fisheries and Police are enforcing the minimal size and making people throw back undersize fish. Cheers Arry

Absolutely mate well underwater, thats what I'm pointing out. Its surprising how it survives there. If you look carefully at the bottom of that dead stick you can see a Bolete. Not for eating these or at leased not by me. Cheers Arry

Out for a mooch today just a few shots to show how close Ceps get to the water. On the side of the main river. The bloody slugs love them so do the maggots. Lol Cheers Arry

The Millers are edible but there is some thing you can muddle them up with think its cloudy agaric. Cheers Arry

This Half dead Old Oak has looked the same all my life on the bank of the river. Locals call it the Shag Tree with all the Cormorant and Shags that sit in the dead branches. Cheers Arry

Missed a load of Ceps in a spot I found today all gone over. I took this picture as beside the manky Cep you will see 2 white mushrooms that I'm 99% sure are "The Miller". Now on the places I find Cep's local where ever I find Ceps I find Miller's, in fact the millers come first. So if I find Millers under a Oak or on bank I keep going back. Small Charcoal Burner. Cheers Arry

Does it look the same and a Field Mushroom on top? I picked one the other day if it is. Think your right if it is the same on top. Cheers Arry

GL reckon it's a Charcoal Burner or a Brittle Gill mate. One of the Russula's. May be Russula Parazurea looking at one of my books. My mate eats the Charcoal Burner's. Cheers Arry

They are a good mushroom, I really like them not many seem to bother with them. The only draw back I find is the don't seem to keep well and the fly gets in them real quick. Cheers Arry

They are not ready yet will let you know when I have some. Cheers Arry

Bloody hell, wish I could find an out let. Only found one small one to day and a few horse mushrooms gone a bit dry, need a good drop of rain again. Did see a few Hedgehogs coming under a hazel bank. cheers Arry

Think I was lucky and hit it just right a week later and would have missed them. Went to the same spot for some Wild Plumbs and Sloes to make some Gin and there were only a few and all but a couple had go over. Cheers Arry

GL been finding Ceps mainly under Oak trees, but in the bushes and brambles near by also in Hazel Groves with Oaks. Especially near river banks even right down near the water. Cheers Arry

Truly is a good time of the year mate. Just made some Sloe gin and some Wild Plumb Gin little tiny plumbs growing down by the river. Got some Black Berrys and scrounged some Brambly Apples from a neighbour so will be joining you with a bit of crumble. My favourite time of the years as well. ate. Cheers Arry

Could well be right mate but reckon its an eater, was it under a Birch tree? The Brown Birch Bolete is said to be poor and lacking in taste. I know this sounds mad but cut it and lick it just to check its not a bitter Bolete. A mate of mine unknowingly put a bitter Bolete in a family meal and it was f****d. Rule of thumb if its got no Red on it and it does not turn blue when cut its okay I have tried GL but not had any success, not much good in my opinion to acid. They say soak them in milk for 24 hours. Think you could use it in a stew or something like that. Cheers Arry
