If you have road tyres on it doesn't matter what your driving your going to get stuck if you travel off the beaten path, your treads will just block up with mud...I'd go for at least 50/50 terrain if you go off road regular....but I wouldn't beat yourself up about the x-trail it will go most places as will other 4x4's with the right treads on...Get some BF AT's there good on and off road, and can clock up some high miles..
