    The fastest and best setup most gamekeepers over here in the UK use hughesy is, to use a pickup one person drives, one lamps and another is in the back of the pickup with rifle ready on top of landrover, for rapid shots and extra height advantage over hedges and terrrian whilst also be a safer angle to shoot... Nightvision is ok for a troublesome animal in a specific area, but for covering large area's of land quickly, lamping is the best.... Does the scope have to be a red dot setup, or illuminated??

    Shooting dogs is NOT the answer...Most I know if they had a dog shot, would turn whoever shot the dogs world upside down... Its easy to say these things, yes poachers shouldn't be there, but a lot of farmers just keep away, as there basically sitting targets for abuse should anything happen after confrontation..... Best answer is A: Turn a blind eye OR B: If your feeling feisty , shirt off time! .... Shooting peoples dogs is out of order.... UNLESS they are worrying/killing livestock...

    I "used" to be a Duffus man through and through (oooerrrrrr ) BUT, after trying the magnum "talpa's" I must admit that i have sort of converted! The first trap i would pull out the bucket would have been a duffus and then any really shallow surface runs i would have stuck a fenn in, but i must say that i am most impressed with these new magnum talpa traps, every time i have whacked the culprit, no fecking messin. The extra handles on top make them much easier to use too! Yes they are very good JK, and cheaper than the genuine talpex, stone dead round the chest everytime... Although

    Crows, Stoats, etc hard keeping em off, they get in at anything... I'm not real bothered about the catch, but I'll use what I can, I'm there to get rid at the end of the day... You will not better the 116 holdaway for ease of setting and power... I wouldn't bother with a double spring, more hassle... But personal choice end of day..

    Plenty of cheap crap traps about, people who buy them are misleaded into thinking they have a bargain.... The only form of traps I'd buy of the talpex style are the genuine talpex OR the Talpa style Magnum are now distributing...Avoid anything else, especially these on EBay No: 390028550037 these couldn't kill a field mouse never mind cut through soil...     Had a call off a farmer who was having rabbit damage to a wheat field, they had eaten off 25 yards into the wheat alongside the margin, so I snared and trapped the area on both sides of the hedgeline... Taken over 100 rabbits, heres a few photo's of some,removed cubby on photos, to show catch... Been feeding fox cubs the guts further down the same hedgeline!

    If you have a severe problem, use frontline as mentioned and then use a blow torch on all the cracks and crevices of your cage when its empty whilst cleaning...

    Quite a lot of people with hounds feed there dogs whole ungutted rabbits... With no untoward harm, myself personally I like to gut them and skin them, but its each to there own... Either way the dogs won't compalin...

    They are a pest in certain areas with very high densities... Just like most other species they need to be controlled in this day and age... Ignore the antis, do gooders and wanna be a tree types... There ignorant to it all, thinking nothing should be killed or controlled... This will always be the case, in our life time anyway, nothing thats said or done will change this....
