  1. I'd say yes especially on "fence snares" , I've seen rabbits avoid them numerous times also pegandgun has footage of rabbits running up to snares and avoiding them, as they can blatantly see them... I snared one hedge and had over 100 rabbits purely from unused new fence snares, I also witnessed rabbits avoiding them, and using other runs.... This time of year I'd say its even more of an advantage to have dulled snares with the rabbits very active during daylight hours, winter time, its not going to affect you much as rabbits are less active, darker mornings/nights so I'd use whatever... Perso
  2. What the hell is all this bollocks... what a waste of a topic .. Anyone posting about this goon again, causing arguements will be removed...
  3. Top quality pics smudge, love the water shots, although there all excellent...keep them coming...
  4. Everyones got their own techniques, all I do is hold the rabbit by its front feet and slit quickly down the belly, then remove guts ... Nice and quick as shown, I'll post a clip like the one thats been added, so theres bit of variation...
  5. Pull the snare tight and run your hands up and down to straighten it OR use a piece of wood ash peg or hazel whatever to remove kinks rubbing it along the snares length, then just reshape and give it a bit of tension...

I've had closed forums before they don't work, well in my opinion anyway... If everything is above board and whats posted is kept sensible and legal, there should be no problem.. Yes there will always be arguements, they would probably be a lot less if people accepted that everyone has their own opinion on how they think something is done, you have to be open minded, too many are blinkered to thinking there way is the only way and they are always right.... But without getting diverted, open forums are the way forward, WHY isolate other people interested in fieldsports from here, many of the me
  7. If your out in the countryside in the middle of nowhere, your not going to affect many people, a .22 set at 60 yds will drop about 7-8" at 100 yds, they drop like a brick, if they hit and ricochet off anything, most of the power is lost they will tumble and not travel a great distance... like any gun your shooting, you should have a good backstop... If your shooting somewhere bulit up or partly urban then I'd stick to an airgun...
  8. The type of scenario your explaing aaron is ideal for using bodygrips on run throughs, but I'd be very wary around ANY livestock, fenns are better for burrows as shown by rolfe...
  9. Personally given the choice I'd choose a .22 rimfire if your going to be shooting rabbits in any numbers... Yes the hmr is flatter shooting, but its louder, and x3 more expensive to use than .22 rounds, this is just my own opinion I'm not a fan of them, they are good for long range rabbits mainly during the summer months you get a lot out during the daylight hours, and for corvids long distance... But for me, I'm mainly out in a vehicle daytime and lamping a lot, if I drove round shooting that thing I'd have a big bill at the end and some areas the rabbits are very skitty, so loud cracks and
  10. Try other methods apart from snaring or stick to the peg snares and place them on the runs 30yds out into the fields... Show us the area your snaring and you will get better suggestions no doubt... If you have any doubt about catching the wrong animal, don't snare in that area/location.
  11. Good photos smudge, excellent the water shots...
  12. Kronenbourg is the daddy Stella fubars your head , still nice though
  13. 1. If your fence snaring and theres a situation were the animal can get entangled, which there is most are killed when you check them in the morning, although its not always the case and you do have a few alive still... With peg snares, its a case of 50/50 some are dead next day, others will be sat tight, trying not to be seen... 2.This time of year your going to have to check them morning and night, as the rabbits are active most of the day, afternoon and night.. 3. Pegs Snares anywhere from 6" - 9" , dependant on length of grass, etc on run.. I recently caught a rabbit in a fox snare
  14. Yes thats the hard part, good footage, just rabbit shooting is very repetitive after the first 10-20..
  15. Hes the daddy, like the terminator...hey hes proud of his plums, just showing off aint he
  16. My oldest dog ferret chilling in the heat!
  17. Millet was on the phone asking If I'd be near the gunshop as he wanted some airgun pellets, so he came along and I had the .22 in the car, shot a few rabbits for his ferrets and hawk, farmer had been grass cutting and we didn't do too bad from a few fields.. Got back to home later on and received a phone call off a farmer I'd spoke to about 12 month ago asking if I'd do some rabbit and pigeon shooting, so I'll pop by and scope it out tomorrow... Popped a few more after we had gutted what was in the vehicle..
  18. Theres been a few more in the snares, mainly cubs trying to get into the field adjacent to the chuck house, farmers been checking and dispatching them as and when needed..
  19. Alright jasper, get yourself to an airgun shop and test a few, I use to own an s410k, decent gun... But a few people have the HW100's now and the overall build quality is brilliant, have a look if you can somewhere local before you buy... If you want a new air bottle try http://www.deepblueshooting.com/department...ng/50282/page/2 free delivery and all gauges and hoses with them...

People who inflict pain on children and the elderly, who cannot defend themselves... What can you say??? Absolute cowardly scum, best thing for the job a bullet in the head or hanging the low life b*****ds easy for everyone all round and take it real slowly..
  21. Got a call out of a farmer to get rid of some rabbits on his brothers farm..So me and PegandGun had a look out with his HW100 and done some bunny bashing, managed a good few lost a few too in the longer grass, wasn't as many as we had been told, and the damp fields probably prevented them from travelling out further... On the way home just after dawn broke we decided to look for a buck on the estate phil hunts on and dropped a young buck for the BBQ...
