  6. Thing is millet they have served the north sea for about 25-30 year and have been reliable as hell, we use a mk2 super puma, I think this was the same model involved ... Although the operators were Bond who normally only fly for the oil company BP, the one that went down last month was also a Bond chopper, but that was pilot error it seems, thankfully no one was hurt that time....For the amount of flights everyday throughout the years, its a good track record, but sadly these last couple of month theres been quite a bit of bad luck... Four have went down, two in the north sea, one in canada an

  12. Looking at a snared fox wouldn't help him set a snare properly, but it could identify the types of trails and runs they use to him... This is a forum about snaring and trapping, and this is what the original thread starter on here requested, regardless if he is new or experienced, this forum is for helping people learn and sharing experiences on these subjects..... Whippeter69 firstly ensure you have permission of the landowner and he is aware what you are doing also ensure they are set away from public area's at all times...
  13. The spray paint blends the traps in well, but comes off easy when the trap is in use, especially along the jaw/spring areas...
  14. Some keepers I know use potassium permanganate..
  15. Certain images can cause contreversy the way they are displayed, better to keep things sensible when showing photos as bad ones can cause more damage than good... but the you will learn nothing part, I don't understand, people will learn nothing from a ferret with a heap of bunnies next to it or a dog, or a hawk with a rabbit, or a bloke with a fish, or 5 dead foxes lined up next to a gun, etc... Its about sharing our outings and experiences is it not after all it is a forum based on hunting.. But you will learn nothing part.. ..what's that meant to mean..do you like looking at half stran
  16. Good do out pair of butt boys...Did you muscle in on the action jasper, play the daddy role
  17. Definitely thats why you should only be doing it were you have permission of the landowner and must strive to stay away from public area's were any chance of this happening actually could... Even the slightest chance, and you should either use other methods of control OR use some form of break away device incorporated in the snare at the very least along with signs if necessary as bad publicity doesn't do the cause any good with a member of the public having their pet caught up....

  19. Play in the trigger hasn't really affected anything too much for me anyway...The americans sometimes reduce play using these methods... To reduce the play, use a round file to deepen the grove in the dog (See Figure B ). File just enough metal away to allow the flats of the dog to come in contact with the bottom of the trigger notch (See Figure C). This eliminates the play in the trigger. Because the dog groove is deeper, the dog has to move farther upward to disengage from the jaw. This causes the trigger to have to travel even farther before the trap fires. To correct the
  20. If you want to tweak the dog/trigger so its nice and light, I could see them safety catches being a hinderance, not that I would know as I don't use them catches just an observation... As you say holdaway each to their own
  21. Whats wrong with compressing your spring arm, fitting the spring arm safety then setting/adjusting your dog trigger as required , after all its already fitted to a bodygrip for that purpose...once set fine, remove catch from spring arm...
