Yet Labour, and I’m not excusing the Tories, have insisted on flooding the country with cheap overseas labour ! How does that square with Labour ? Or are the modern Labour Party not the party of the British worker ? Not a poke at you personally , I’d genuinely like your opinion Cheets. I am not sure why you would address that question to me in the middle of a lurcher thread. "Jukel this is for you" sounds like a traveller call out. Perhaps you've been drinking. Adam Smith's tenet about supply and demand is an obvious one. You don't need to plough your way the 'The Wealth of Nations' to work that out. 1) I've been urging others for decades to see the surge in immigration, legal and illegal, as a long established political and economic manoeuvre by the business class, aided and abetted by politicians.....who all piss in the same pot.... to keep wages low and their profits sky high. I've argued long and hard that Britain has adopted a cheap labour philosophy rather than invest in new technology as our competitors have. However, I am not in favour of burning immigrants or groups of immigrants housed in hotels or elsewhere. Nor am I in favour favour of cutting welfare as Reform are. I don't care if some claims are fraudulent. Financial crime in the top echelons of society dwarfs some benefit claimants swinging the lead. I do not support attacking poor people. Our welfare bill is not a great as other comparable countries in Europe. 2) I voted for Brexit to limit the number of cheap workers in order to drive up wages and urged others to do so. 3) I have not voted Labour for over 30 years. Metaphorically read my lips. I do not support the modern Labour Party. They are traitors to working people. I despise Starmerism. You seemed to suggest on another thread that I secretly support Starmer. Please understand I do not support Starmer or the Labour Party. I do support Labour with regard to Israel's war. I also support evil, narcissist Trump in his legal action against the BBC. But on most issues I do not support Trump. Far from it. 4) Equally I despise Reform, its leader and most of its manifesto. I hope you do not take grave offence at my somewhat irritated reply. Edited 6 hours ago by jukel123 Quote Link to post

I apologise if I have irritated you. I was probably “multi tasking “ re-reading Smiths ”The Wealth of Nations”, while enjoying a bit of Friday night banter on this thread and saw you were reading it. Perhaps I should have PM’d you or started a new thread. A mistake I’ll try not to repeat in future. Cheers. 1 Quote Link to post
