Job offer

Was chatting to someone I know yesterday and he asked me if I was still looking for a little couple of days a week job as I get a bit bored and the beer tokens come in handy so I says yes what’s going on to which he reply’s that a guy we both know is looking for someone two days a week shooting birds on the runway of an raf base on the Cotswolds so I’ve put my name in the hat but think it’s mine there is several lakes on site strictly no fishing but containing carp over 40lb never fished for so if all goes well it will be two 12 hour days shooting and I’ll stay overnight in the van and fish the lake then return after day two, sounds almost to good to be true getting payed to shoot trap and fish for two days a week

If not fished be less shy should imagine can see some decent sized ones comin out hope all goes to plan mate

what sort of birds and what are you going to be shooting them with ?

I would imaging gulls and pigeons with a 12 bore

 you would need a special licence to shoot Gulls being protected

I’ll probably need more than 9” barrels on my shotgun and a ticket as well lol but I,ll cross all those bridges once I get me foot in the door I would imaging what ever needs shooting is all covered by appropriate tickets as it’s an on going thing to stop them getting sucked in the planes it’s all new to me mate but the only things guaranteed to fail are the ones you don’t try so let’s kick the can and see were it goes

Doesn’t sound like work to me. Might have kept schtum, or at least not have posted about it on a hunting and fishing forum until it was in the bag mind
