And they could be mended with a spanner and not a quantum super computer and £18 million quid in parts ! lol

Exactly that....now I'm now mechanic but I can replace bits on cars...starter motors...belts ....disks pads etc....

We just bought a new motor....I look under bonnet and I'm lost....nowhere to even put your hand to get a spanner in...

All I've really got to go on was the service history all at main dealers....Hope to f**k it's reliable

Range rover evoque.....its mainly for her indoors to look good on school run...

I'm not going to live this down am I...lol

Your not wrong , my mrs has a a evoque, but we all know they are unreliable, but the key is get it brand new and keep it 2 years and then get rid of it. Tbf we had 2 now never had an ounce of agro, done 40,000 in the first one now this ones on 30,000 been all over in it. They are quite cheap compared to some of these new motors these days.

Where I come from there’s this type of car snobbery, as in you will hear people judging people every day if they don’t have some kind of almost new and/or flash motor……the important bit is, none of them have a pot to piss in and anyone with half a brain knows it but they just want to look like they do…..it’s f***ing weird !

So refreshing then when I moved here because that type of car snobbery just don’t exist, at all !……nobody gives a f**k if you have a brand new €100k Land Cruiser or a 20 year old Skoda with the back doors held shut with bailing string !

The roads are shite, the cars gonna get f****d, nobody services anything…..it’s just something to get about and maybe tow a trailer with….end of story !

I was thinking there about the place I lived as a kid, terraced streets with the back lanes and yards, think they were Victorian, mostly a ground floor flat and a first floor flat, the upstairs being three bedroomed

Always remember the high ceilings, single pane windows, no central heating, and the little fire grates in the bedrooms that had been boxed in, and never been used since feck knows when

Me owld Ma used to explode through my bedroom door every morning navigating over me in my pit to get to the window pull the curtains open managing yet again to evade tipping arse over tit straight through the flimsy glass, burst the condensation soaked top window open, get up and get your dog in She'd shriek, Owld Jake would stand in the middle of the back lane on all fours and pish a river, minute upon minute of dirty yellow brown bladder sap that would be flowing down the centre gutter  as I lay there half frozen if it was winter, bag of bones and a hard on

I'm fortunate I have no interest in car outside of something reliable and preferably comfortable. Work with lads that work away with a banger whilst got an expensive motor sat on the driveway on tick paying through the nose for so they can drive it twice a month. A lad dropped his tools of the other week in a gle V8 , and came back down in another Merc . I here from missus or kids about the keeping up with the Jones' whether cars or houses , my son came back the other day said his mates house got a sitting room same size as our downstairs and kids got his own bathroom etc. I just say well they got a few quid then. Pointless basing your life on other folks financials , there's always richer and poorer . I invest in the kids and I think it does them a little good to think they're less well off , and they know there's much worse off as we live in the poor end of the village lol. I like that they see all walks of life. I was working near Basingstoke and a mate rang me from Wales , said what's on, I said stuck behind about 6 range rovers doing the school run about 300yrd down a lane , he said sake at least in the valleys if do you see a range rover you know it's a drug dealer lol.

I did nt mean good going mate for 40,000 , those effing things normally go wrong well before that, I agree it’s disgraceful, I’ve had Isuzu trucks off eBay that have done 175,000 on them and I’ve taken it over 200,000 without a murmur. My sisters got a new Peugeot, no end of problems too. They make them unreliable with electric gremlins. I always think if they built a pick up that you can jet wash out, no electric seats, handbrake, parking sensors the lot, just wind down windows, heater , radio that’s it I reckon would sell well. My Mrs can start her car and put the heating on it from her mobile ffs
