Something Japanese.....Small land cruiser ,like a Prada etc in 3 door,Toyota RAV4 XT4 pre 2.2 engine shape with the 2 L d4d engine or an old nissan X trail.2/3 k max..Rav and x trail both cheap for pa

I'm with Arry. I've had my x trail for around 6 or 7 years , and I've worked it pretty hard in that time. It's a brilliant all rounder . It drives like a car on the motorway and about town , and

Thought this would have been your choice of ride Dai ?

I’ve two hiluxs one for hunting and one for general work towing horse box or whatever one is 2003 and has been bomb proof will go anywhere and isn’t too bad to tow I had some work done on the chassis but €1000 spent on a chassis after 20 years of having to do next to nothing on the engine is a good deal in my book. Other one is 2024 plate and it’s a nice motor but you can tell it just hasn’t the same guts as the older one

Alright lads,  gona be looking a new vehicle soon, what is your own personal experiences in the 2nd hand 4x4 market and what would you prefer?

Depends on your budget ?

a lot of the land cruisers and hilux's now are rotten! the new ones are crap!!

BUT, you can easily import an older one thats as good as new from Japan.

Less hassle with petrol than diesel. No DPF, EGR. More power with petrol too.

And, You obviously haven't owned any! by saying they haven't changed much in 20 years..... is ludicrous!!!! New ones are now made in Thailand. Rot far quicker too. Engines have changed.

There's no land cruisers made in Thailand.. and I've welded enough of them up to know they don't rot any quicker than usual.. they just don't have as much under body protection put on .. buy one and underseal/waxoil it and it'll last

I don't personally like them and I wouldn't recommend them but there's a few farmers around near me running them (mainly MK2) and they are taking daily abuse and still going ..

Had fourtrak, rav4 2.2s, x trail and now on an old terrano . All good buses in their own right the fourtrak me favour of all but finding a good one like gold dust
