trigger2 3,396 Posted Monday at 13:27 Report Share Posted Monday at 13:27 I would go for a good proven track greyhound. I take it where you are you would be looking for a stayer. You will end up with a more even litter aswell. Good base line to start and perhaps give you better future options if you wanted something a little different. Atb which ever way you go about it 3 Quote Link to post

Sprinter = 200-300 metres. Middle distance. = 400-600 metres. Stayer. = 600-800 metres. Marathon. = 800-1200 metres. A rough guide, depending on the track Cheers. 5 Quote Link to post

Imo try and find one that has ran at the highest grade ( opens) and that has ran a lot of races at that grade for most of it's racing career, meaning that it has stayed sound 1 Quote Link to post
Chevy Chase 111 Posted Monday at 17:56 Report Share Posted Monday at 17:56 I’d be trying for a proven stud as well, from recent personal experience greyhounds can be awkward 2 Quote Link to post
poxon 5,942 Posted Monday at 18:07 Report Share Posted Monday at 18:07 I wouldn’t piss about with straight greyhounds to be honest if I was after breeding a dog for work out of a deerhound for working deer, hare and fox I’d go straight for a lining with a good line bred saluki bull grey doing the job. 2 Quote Link to post
