It's not just Liverpool unfortunately Len...it's UK wide... I'm looking forward to coming over to the north, for a wedding end of October, got an airbnb booked for a week,my cousin's have arranged a few

Me too mate, I've been to both a fair few times and worked just outside Manchester for a couple of months, for me Liverpool is friendlier and I've enjoyed some great nights out there. Funny enough sta

Still look on the bright side, at least her being  home at night will stop her house from being burgled....

I spent lots a lots time in liveroool, best mate was from there an we visited regular, never really liked the night life or city centre tho, for me the best part was going into the schemes an being round the proper scousers, that’s where I felt most welcome, but I was always with somebody known, I find it very much like Glasgow an them like Glaswegians, there hospitality is out this world, if they like you haha

The government need to clamp down massively on the drugs and bums everywhere, and the junkies where all white, tents all over the place and bums sleeping in lots of the shop doorways, as 1st impression's go it was defo a bad one, to think the amount of people from around the world who visit it, youd think the city council would keep the place clean, tidy and bum and junkie free

Sad that you've made such a post from such a tiny trip... What were you expecting from a city of that size. An all white population, with 2.5 children and all neatly kept semi's, all washing cars on a Sunday. Or KKK supremacy and burning crosses on every corner..??

You probably travelled from the city centre to Menlove Avenue via Toxteth, and Smithdown. Been multicultural down there for over 100 years. Though your districts away from the Lennon/ Strawberry Felds stuff... We are a city of immigration and diversity..!!

My city is as beautiful now as it's ever been, with suburbs that are rich in both history and architecture. Try googling how many films are made all over the city.

Sure, like most large cities, some of the terraced suburbs like Kirkdale, Old Swan, Kensington, and my old gaff Anfield, are now in serious decline, but as a whole Liverpool is still moving forward. All the Matthew Street 'Beatle mania' is just 'tat for tourists' like you, BUT it's a million miles away from a 'dying city'...

If you ever decide to come back, then let me know, and I'd be happy to guide you...

Yeah i love Liverpool, was up a while back, met friends we made through hosting them down in here in the cottage.. top people and had a great day and night with them being shown places we'd never know about...never had a bad time in Liverpool, one of my favourite cities to be honest

Same here and its great how proud the locals are of the City and their history.

I’ve only ever been to Liverpool a couple of times and that was to work.

I have to admit it was a bit “f***ing hell !” As I drove through Toxteth, it’s a state no question about it……but one thing really tickled me, I drove past that dock that’s pretty famous (can’t remember the name of it?, Albert Dock is it ?)….anyway, there was about half a dozen geezers in donkey jackets sat round a blazing oil drum with placards like a picket line…..but what made it funny was that the dock had been closed about 10 year by this point ! lol lol

On the subject of Belfast, it’s a cracking city, always liked it since I started going there 30 years ago….its nice because it’s small and it feels small but it’s grand, very grand !

However, like what seems all British city’s, last time I was up there (last year) it’s felt a bit beaten up, a bit down on its luck, closed shops and buildings in the centre and a bit grimey…..and a f***ing GAA shop to add insult to injury jury ! lol (f**k it, I went in the Rangers shop in protest ! lol )

Bangor was the same, looking a bit knocked about, there’s a shopping centre in the middle called The Flagship and it’s closed down and looks a f***ing mess, dirty, big grand old hotel on the front closed with grimey looking blokes hanging about outside……

I have always believed that all community’s, towns and city’s alike, are a reflection of the nation at large…..they sum up what a nation is at any given point in time……the impression I get at the moment is of people and community’s and business just clinging on and fighting very hard just to stay alive but they are getting a kicking !

So, having worked in or visited just about every city in the U.K., I’d say they are all much of a muchness…..for every Toxteth there’s a Tower Hamlets or a Luton or Leicester or a Bradford…….and at the moment I reckon most you see will be not in their full glory because, let’s be honest, the whole country aint that glorious at the moment !

The 2 common denominators is illegal and legal gimmiegrants and drugs, all known about and allowed by the mps and police, lets face it lads, drugs have taken the fight out of the peoples, they are nothing more than zombies its disgraceful, a nation will not prosper whilst the peoples are constantly wiped out on drugs. Sad state of affairs the UK as a whole
