Woah mate that's a bit over strong.

No I know what he means. Kids that loose a parent to suicide are massively more likely to do it themselves. I think he just means that it often passes the demons on

Lol I just called it as I saw it and he agreed then bought me a pint.. no more no less. In fairness as the words were leaving my young, drunken mouth I thought "ah bollocks"

Said on the radio he had been found dead at home. Didn't mention anything else so I don't know if its suicide or what just yet

He came up short when pitched against world class fighters like Pacquiao  and Mayweather. The defeats affected him badly. I remember him saying he felt people were laughing at him and that he had somehow betrayed his fans.

He blew up in weight and hit the white stuff.

Men's mental health is fragile and boxers are particularly prone to depression after a defeat or after retirement. Shame.

A lot of Filipinos think that was a decent fight.

I don't know what point you are making Mack? Hatton was a pressure/ brawler type of fighter and he was highly effective at it. But he wasn't good enough against Pac and  Mayweather. He had a tremendous following from his Manc friends, including Wayne Rooney,   who was in his corner for Mayweather, I think. When he lost badly, he thought he had let his fanbase down and spiralled into drink and drugs.

His son tried to take up the Hatton gauntlet , but the first time I saw him, I wrote on here he's going to get badly hurt. He doesn't have it. Did I tell you I was a self styled, THL infallible boxing correspondent? Thankfully his son has now packed in.

Maybe Ricky was victim of his own expectation, his fans' glorification of him and media hype?

Modesty stops me from predicting he would  end up short when he fought Pac and Mayweather. Well not quite. I couldn't resist.

There's no shame in losing to two of the best fighters of his generation. I remember the Mayweather fight very well and how Joe Cortez jumped all over Hatton whenever he got close, talk about spoiling a fight and preventing someone from working. He was stopped in the end but he still put in one of the best performances against a prime Mayweather who went in to be one of the best ever.

Agree 100%. The ref acted like he was one of Mayweather's team. There was a stink about  Cortez's interpretation of the rules that night.

Why am I trying to make a point?I have met a lot of pinoys who when they found out I was a Brit always mention the Hatton V Pacman fight and how much they enjoyed it,that’s why I said a lot of Filipinos think it was a decent fight, that’s it.
