I never gave a f**k and would leave mine anywhere, behind hedgerows,up little single track lanes etc....but I always put one of them flying saucer crook locks on the steering wheel😁 ... Always some dodgy farmers and f***ing gypos looking to have them away....it's the same with the motorhomes....I'm always getting stopped and asked is it for sale John boy?...

I wont entertain these new keyless motors...few  youngsters down by me are flat out every night, got them little boxes that intercept your key signal....wake up in the morning....and there's 80/100k of motors disappeared off some poor sods drive...ripping about in AMG's,RS3's on doubled up plates, terrorizing the law and filming themselves 🙈

My missus keeps the keys for the S3 in one of them faraday pouches, paranoid that when we are in bed someone is outside waving a signal grabber around

Got to hand it to  them...as quick as a manufacturer, brings out a new security measure...someone finds away to bypass it...

Lots of money to be made,if you move in them circles 👍

When immobilisers started coming out in the mid 90’s I worked at a place that used to fit vectra and cobra thatchem immobilisers and once they were fitted you weren’t taking that car, then manufacturers thought they could do it better but the problem is if you immobilise everything the same way people will soon work out a way around it, them ghost immobilisers are becoming popular now, I just think with the S3 being on PCP, if it get nicked they’ll give me another

These sleeping batteries are meant to help with that .. they go to sleep after so long of no movement so key signal can't be intercepted.. supposedly insurance companies are starting to give discounts if you have them

They want to be using them on land rovers, they seem to be the motor of choice around here at the minute, I know half a dozen people that have had disco’s and evogue’s taken over the last couple of months

Could never afford one in my late teens or early 20,s. Another motor I all ways fancied at that age for a dog bus was the Lada Niva.

When I used knock about and lamp with the Cumbrian massive. We moved on from escort vans to Austin Maestro vans to roadside lamp from. Anyway we was going up one weekend for a shine as we did most of the season and my mate up there says his engine blew up. So then in the week leading he phones and says I've got it sorted. When we went up he add nicked a bright yellow forestry commission van and hand painted it a different colour and put his plate on it and that was his idea of ringing a motor lol. Them West coast lot were summat else pmsl

Yeah it was like a progression wasn’t it , I genuinely asked a lad why he had swapped from the escort to the maestro and he looked and my me and said “ I can get more in it “ lol

itv was serious business wasn’t it ? Escort 55 or 75 , alloy wheels , luggage bar in the roof at the back , bulbs on the front and at least two massive bull heads stuck out from the back

Even had the break light switches back then as well. Some of my happiest memories are absolutely freezing my tits off stood on the back of the van , holding onto a single roof bar standing lamping both sides of the road with one door open. Then you get the shout " CAR CAR " climb back in while on the move, let pass then back out again and game on lol . We just really had the minshaws back then
