Just wondering if anyone still works hancock dogs

I did,she’s coming up 13 now, she’s provided me with some cracking days out, half bred Hancock, Arthur was her sire

My brother and uncle had dogs from Dave before i ever got into lurchers,I remember going with them for a day out when I was around 13/14' and I wasn't interested in running dogs at that age but always remember the journey home in the back of a marina van with two pups puking all over me .

my brother as a collie pup,he got him from a sheep farmer in next village , he's nice chunky pup ,he's going to use him on the lamp and ferreting , hopefully he'll do ok .

I've a first cross border collie greyhound, over a long time with various collie crosses he is the only Hancock I've owned. He's significantly bigger than the rest i've had which were all border crosses from classic low slung sheepdogs, interestingly he has good top end speed for a first cross although at the expense of agility at speed IMO. Very tough, high prey drive, cant fault his intelligence although he can be pig headed. On balance he's a decent dog. Interestingly its common for lurcher owners to spot he's a hancock bred dog and most owners seem to have been very pleased with theirs

Nice ,I think the Collie X the type most folk had ,my uncle always had what he called Norfolk lurchers "not from JB  then Hancock dogs 

I was talking to a lad few months ago,I was tieing my bedy grey up outside the shop and he had a Hancock bitch on the front seet of his work van ,I asked how she is  bred and he said she's a old drovers dog, anyway I went over give her a fuss and turned her ear and she had the Hancock mark ,she wasn't as racey as yours .

Only ever seen one that a mate of mine brought out for a day's ferreting she did the job well enough, bit timid but got the job done, I've heard mixed reviews on them from others but it's the same as anything if you've made a name for yourself there will be people on board or haters

She was a tidy enough wee bitch, ferreted had a good nose on her and took her fair share of feather  also wasn't shy at taking roe. Got caught up at a fence retrieving a hare by some young Aberdeen Angus and got trampled, was never the same after that. Sired by Stormin Norman, must be near on 30 year ago

I had a dog bred from 2 hancock dogs. He did the job on everything i put in front of him. Would have another quite happily
