Seen some absolute killing machines bred this way. I love my beddy crosses as well so in an ideal world i'll be looking for a deerhound/greyhound/beddy hybrid although a bit of whippet in the mix wouldn't go amiss either. 2 Quote Link to post

We mustn’t confuse Fell Hounds with Fell Packs of fox hounds . Fell hounds are lighter boned and racier, and are used for racing; a scent trail is laid in a big circle across the fells and the hounds follow the scent until they see or hear their masters and then race in at full speed. Fell packs are foxhounds that work the Cumbrian fells and hills. Both types will be at the show; I’ll try to get photos of both to show the difference. Another interesting thing they told me was they would bring their fell and Lakey terriers over to the north east to add a bit of our Bedlington blood to add a bit of fire ! I always thought it was the other way round! Cheers. 1 Quote Link to post

Confuse Fell hounds with fell packs charts I know boys would spin hares with what we'd call a fell hound and there's drag hounds for the drag racing from what I gathered they made a fell hound to cover ground on open hill at speed and be nimble to get across the rocks I was talking to fella who reckons smooth pointer blood was added to them Quote Link to post

I know in Cumbrian the Fell hound is used for racing and looks much racier than a foxhound, as I said , I’ll try and get some pictures. Cheers. 1 Quote Link to post
Gilbey 1,490 Posted Wednesday at 22:29 Report Share Posted Wednesday at 22:29 To me Fell hounds are used in fell packs to hunt. And "Trailhounds" are used in "hound trailing" 3 Quote Link to post
