pesky1972 6,016
Found half a dozen frogs or maybe toads squashed flat in a car park earlier…, couldn’t tell which they were so pancaked. I guess on the move now from hibernating to spawning ponds. Thought it strange they’d all perish in a quiet car park, and wonder if maybe the crows have done them in but only eaten part of the carcass.., especially if they are toads?
Greyman 34,278
Have seen my first bats this week a toad squashed on the road and the swans are now sitting on a nest the water is also drying up on the fields at pace indicating the flora is waking up for a drink
Franks dad 3,388
Heard a cuckoo this week , buzzards and red kites are presumably nesting up ,only seeing the males out hunting ,they were out in pairs up till this week .seen the buzzard hunting through the woodland floor for squirrels today, they were shouting out ,but he saw me and the dog before I could get the phone out for a pic .double figures of quite large young rabbits in a few fields by the farmhouse will have to catch the farmer out and about try and tap him up ( hopefully without his dog after mine was straining at the bit to eat it last time their paths crossed, he was good about it to be fair , i gave the dog a right bollocking and he was like it’s fine mate lol …. He’s dogs a right Cnut of a collie thing size of a German shepherd and was off lead on the public footpath, he soon grabbed it when it got a bit brave for its boots though ) .
