So what just drive around fields I take it scanning with the light and when you spot something turn the dog loose?

Some drive, some walk but yes that’s about the strength of it.

Damn south Dakotas got a milf governor out here dropping live stock killing coyotes to help out ranchers and I'm stuck in Mississippi with a overweight middle aged dude who can't seem to do shit right

Walking is better IMO, driving the fields has done more to cause shit with landowners than anything else

That's one way of doing it and plenty do it that way, But to me it not sporting, It should always be about test one thing against another even if on the lamp, If you are caught with a lamp and a dog on land you have no permission to be on you are in deep shit, We dont have the freedoms anymore that you enjoy.

....I mean tresspassing is illegal here too bud  😅 I mean other then public property/ national forest ,it's illegal to run dogs on somone sland thats not yours....however i think in my state it is legal to go on somone elese property without permission to retrieve your dogs.

Honestly depending where you at it can go from people not caring because dog hunting is normal and everyone understands to they go out of their way to kill your dogs if they seen them cross their property .  GPS collars really help now days

The UK has a specific act of Parliament and law that deals with hunting wild animals with dogs, trespass is something different.

Just having the dog in the car with suspicion that you are going hunting is a criminal offence…..so you don’t have to actually hunt anything, it’s enough that a copper says he thinks you may do.

This will involve unlimited fines, loss of vehicle, loss of driving license, loss of dogs, ban in keeping dogs and possible imprisonment !

You are still missing the point, public land, national trust and all other publicly owned land are included in places you can not hunt with dogs, All you have is any land you can get permission on, then you are very limited in the quarry you can pursue. Yes there's the accidental catch clause but if you have a dozen hares or a couple of fox`s then that isn't going to hold water. our freedom to hunt has virtually gone for numerous reasons, enjoy what you have whilst you still have it.

On a slightly different note, what would happen in the UK if your shotgun license was a year expired and you still had the gun ?…..I wouldn’t have dreamt of it when I was still in the uk because I think they would have come down heavy on you.

I only ask because here, you have to have a separate license for each gun and one of mine expired 14 months ago, they send you a pre populated form here to renew and I sent it back but it never came despite several visits to the police station….in fact they said, it’s in the system so just wait !

So, I thought f**k it and just left it……Police turn up last night at the gate and said “You have an unlicensed firearm here” so I said “yeah, that’s right” and explained what happened.

No bother said the copper, do another form and just fetch it in tomorrow and I’ll get it sorted for you……end of story !

Common sense policing I think you call that.

Police in Scotland will descend and confiscate your guns if you leave the door open on your cabinet or have unlocked  ammunition .

Should be the same for XL bullies. Lethal b*****ds with no legal controls. I'm all for freedom but not freedom to endanger other people with a creature over which there is little or no  control. The majority are owned by inadequate fucktards. Sorry for off thread point.

The guards (police) here get a lot of bad mouthing but I have found them to be absolutely spot on compared to our own f***ing university rule book boys in the U.K.

Even when I moved over, I had my guns but it was about 6 months before I got around to applying for my Irish licenses……Sgt in the local station said “Well, you know you shouldn’t really have just fetched them over and done that don’t you” so I said “Yeah,  but I took a chance you’d be alright about it seeing as I’m not a scumbag and you seemed alright when I came in and asked about licensing before I moved over”

No bother he said, just do this, do that and I’ll sort your licenses right away…..and he did.

Refreshing change to those heavy handed pricks back home.

Getting an absolute nightmare getting renewal sorted, it's taking months in some cases, I've had 2 mates sign guns over to me because their certificates are running out even tho they've put renewals in months in advance, 1 mate has said fck it and said keep the guns I'm out, which I think is what they want

Just a memory now, when lewis was fighting tyson, a few of us was in our 2nd home from home (foxford co mayo) we were in the pub and the guvnor said if people keep buying drink he will do a lock in for the fight, well knowing my mates it was a done deal, we all had a decent days salmon fishing and a couple of us had 1 in the bag, anyway it was a good night and a decent fight to watch and the guvnor was happy as he made a few quid with everybody there, so as i was driving we left the pub about 6am and as we were driving over foxford bridge to go to our digs the guards was coming into foxford in a convoy, it ended up they bust the pub and lifted other fellas we know and the guvnor and the locals that was still drinking, later that day we were back on the river about 7pm and met a few of the lads that was lifted and asked what happened to them? The lads said they where taken to the police station and questioned as to what they were doing, when they explained it was just to watch the tyson fight, the officer in charge said ok then, who won? As he was chatting to the lads a jr stuck his head in and said so boss what are we gona do with all these people breaking the law? The boss said your gona put the kettle on and make the lads a cupof tea? Tea asked the jr? Yes said the boss, do you honestly think im gona charge these men who come down here all the time and spend their hard earned cash for having a drink and watching a big fight like that? He said we need tourists for our economies, catch yourself on, so he let them all go.
