I used to live in the Philippines, oversubscribed university course is nursing, families will sell land, get up to their eyeballs in debt to get a kid onto a nursing course as the kid can work and live abroad and make a good life, education is currency.Australia and New Zealand were recruiting doctors in the UK a few years back,in the past year I know three Canadian nurses who have went south of the border for a great salary and standard of living, people have always moved around for better money be it moving around the city, country or world.

I agree but never in our worlds history has it been as encouraged or easy. It used to be the brave few now it is the majority

We live in the age of bullshite.  If you had 3 lads on your yard and the reporter was coming you would give em some suitable clothes. Some muck boots and a gillet with the yard name on it. Instea

I agree they have shifted, what I’m saying is that is a direct result of deliberate policy. If women had been encouraged to have more children instead of encouraged to have a “career” then they w

Or the other 28 countries that they passed through, they could of claimed asylum... parents should be charged with child neglect, and sent back to their shithole of origin 👍

There’s currently 1652 NHS vacancies for doctors in the NHS,my son put the hard work in,I paid every single penny of his tuition,no student loans whatsoever, have the states nicked him?

I'm not here to comment on the states. It's immoral and ridiculous for Britain to base it's provision of medical and care staff on importing them from abroad.

Pray a big African bloke isn't the only option to look after your incontinent mother.

My mother thankfully died in a care home 😂

you have gone from stealing to importing, incentivising is a better choice.

True…..but we have to make tax and costs smaller so that they can actually live a life on the wages

We have to make it so accessible for capable locals.  When I started in the NHS, almost 40 years ago, the suggestion of nurses with tattoos was outrageous, now it is commonplace, along with single parents etc. Local people should be enabled as far as possible, so that we don't have to depend on foreign labour.

Not quite sure what your point is....do you think it's good Britain is dependent on foreign health care staff. I don't. But I'm aware it can't be solved by just stopping or making it harder for them to come

My point is your original choice of word didn’t fit,you said UK stole healthcare staff,I said the UK doesn’t steal them, the UK offers a better work package than their home countries,no stealing,it’s incentivisation.

Now its full of tattooed dykes with the side shave and rainbow lanyards on full display, there should be no politics in the nhs, and it should be made up of majority of our own with free tuition from the unis, its a disgrace our own peoples have to pay through the nose for something we are in short supply off, our whole system needs reforming, well done for your nhs service, thats some time youve put in helping those who need it

Apologies for my phrasing.....I still think it's madness and wrong for Britain and immoral to take them from other countries

If they hadn’t been actively recruiting from 3’rd world and developing countries the NHS would be up a creek without a paddle both now and a long time ahead, non Brits make up roughly 30% of nurses and 35% of doctors,Brit doctors graduate they want the lifestyle of Australia or the money in the states.
