WataWalloper 3,551
another time I was out on me own, an saw the biggest bird I’d ever saw, very next morning I was telling a few the lads I usually lamped with, all them belived me, so much so that 2 of them come up the next night, not even to lamp, just for a mooch out, after wandering about a part of dales for what seemed like ages I was starting to feel a cock haha was I wrong?? Got back to motor an was gonna call it a night when all of a sudden a Fcuking big owl flew past the headlights of the car, none of us where in the car we was all taking out boots off, an one the lads instantly knew what it was. An eagle owl, told a load a locals an they all said I was mental haha but a few weeks later it was hit by a van an found roadside

I've always maintained that there will likely have been the odd escapee over the years, but to then say there's a population in the hundreds, that's a massive stretch. I’ve hunted the Scottish Borders, my brother had permission around Coldstream , the lowland hills with Northernlight, the west coast, we had lamping permission around Stirling, lamped around Lockerbie area and lamped rabbits and hunted hares on the Cairngorms . So a fairly comprehensive coverage. I know for a fact there are pine martens in Kielder forest, a place I’ve hunted and fished countless times, but I’ve never been lucky enough to see one, even around their breeding boxes. All I’m inferring is that if I haven’t seen something , it doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist. As I’ve said, I’m sceptical that there are breeding groups of big cats, and I’d guess that the original releases/escapees have long since died out, but , again, I’d like to be proven wrong. Cheers.

That does explain why you won't have seen the cats. And of course, but these are meant to be a breeding population in the hundreds across the UK, and with the number of sightings each year, they are hardly discrete. It still puzzles me how not even a single one has been videod or photographed after being killed by a vehicle, these cats are something else.

Greyman 31,511
Funny how every time this pops up the dicks have no comment but google image it reverse image it it is exactly what it is a large wild black leopard shot here almost 40 years after the dwa was enforced and I’ve asked numerous times were all these escapee black cats are coming from when there is only one known black leopard in the whole country, prove me wrong with some evidence but I won’t hold my breath
