Good to see that lads are still debating various subjects,...it kinda gives an old enthusiast a wee bit of hope.....?

Back in the day,...I bred several litters of nondescript , roustabout working lurchers...

We used a local herding dog which his owners labelled,... a Blue Shag....

I watched the dog working both sheep and cattle, and I liked his style...

So, I put him across my honest old mouching/coursing bitch,...Mercedes?

Every resulting litter produced amazing looking pups,..and they generally came out extremely heavy coated, blues or Wheaten in colour.

Several lads asked to buy them,.but I never sold any,...I just gifted them to folk who I believed would give them a good life.....

Grand dogs, great days....?

I’d rather a pup went to someone like that than most dog men, better than seeing them passed about

Its only my opinion after reading about them on some of the Facebook pages but he seems to be cornering the market for folks who are worlds apart from some of the rouges and ner do wells known for keeping lurchers about them and more for the upper class folk who love the country shows and have moved from city's to live in the countryside if they are biddable and easy to live with lurchers then i don't think he will struggle to find homes for them from folk who won't get rid of them the first thing time they do something wrong.

Totally agree mate. I might be looking into getting another lurcher myself at a later date and it will be more of a pet than an out and out full on hunting dog and looking at some of these types on the Facebook pages I might be tempted on one of these types.

Spot on if you’re just doing a bit of mooching, rabbiting etc an obedient dog that can catch the odd thing here & there is all you need. Easy for a lot to get carried away and think they need a specialist dog when they don’t. Best of luck if you do decide to go for one & would be nice to hear how it turns out.

Him and his brother have crossed all sorts into these over the years and think people forget. Someone did a DNA test on a pup recently which was interesting and Jeff seemed worked up? not sure how reliable the tests are but there was husky, poodle, Labrador, others that I can't mind, possibly bull? Can't see it now

Have you seen his brother? does he actually exist?

I had a dog years ago out of a little Burrel bitch to a Saluki x dog named Chance'  and that dog was a little belter, on Fox, Hare, Deer and rabbits. He had thrown more to the Saluki tbh and he had a lot of wind when properly fit (45lb) but I dont think the rest of the litter made anything.
