Slipping a dog on these lads didn't always go the dogs way ,broken toes or legs were always a possibility,I preferred to stalk and shoot them but the haul back was hoffific at times due to the terrain

No challenge for dogs in reality, but good supply of meat/food and the landowners hated them with a passion

I have to clarify I did take a few with the dog but 90 %were shot ,

Guessing...I'd reckon the big Billy's must be 60 lbs plus ,their bone density was huge ,they had legs that were solid and thick ,I dragged a lot  back.. ,pure torture,...

Surprised at that. I’d have thought they’d be a fair bit more than 60lbs

What does goat taste like, I was told its a similar taste to venison? I had a billy goat in my allotment when I was a kid it smelled bad no way I would eat a mature billy but saying that I wont eat mature roe/fallow bucks they smell strong I will only eat the yearlings.

I ate plenty of goat when I lived in the Middle East. It was as available as lamb in the shops. If I didn’t know it was goat, I’d of assumed it was mutton; slightly stronger and darker than lamb and tasted fine .

Cheers.

I am not really a fan of lamb/mutton so its off the menu for me.

Did you ever get round to butchering those pigs or did they live to a ripe old age ?
Cheers.

They are still going strong, its therapeutic sitting watching them. They get out the pen now and then, all they do is wander about close then come down the house and look threw the patio doors.

The only ones I ate were kids ,but I utilised every goat I shot,...the kids are amazingly good,a few nanny's were good as well, very sweet tasting the younger they were
