I think he was stepping over the ball to put his body in the way to protect it, purely accidental catching the player Imo..he was turning his body at the same time...put yourself between the ball and player... I'm not however defending him as he was totally shit, like a Sunday morning player, 2nd touch was a tackle every time ffs!! I actually thought it may have improved the team when he went off...wishful thinking!! Lol Just about to watch the mighty hammers play 2 touch round an astonished Olympiacos mate…..I better go and watch, it will be played at such a pace I may miss it !

Blackmag 6,354
Newcastle looked leggy and tired tonight but I take nothing away from Bournemouth they played well and deserved the win unlike us last night that was rough on rovers a draw would of been a fair result but 3 points all the better and I will take that but what a good game 2 sides committed with challenges going in and a ref that allowed a game to flow knowing it's a derby I thought he did a very good job and none of that stupid var nonsense either
eastcoast 4,502
Bournemouth seen the opportunity to get some points and grasped it. Very well played all over the pitch. No complaints from a Newcastle fan with the result or our lads who played or the ref.

A honest assessment east coast not just tonight but the other night as well joe Linton missed good chances to score that could of put you on the front foot but what a job Eddie Howe doing a good young coach

It is catching up with a few of them. But again, no complaints, only to be expected. Edited November 11, 2023 by eastcoast spell check
chartpolski 27,620
I'm loathe to make excuses for Newcastle, but with players like Botman, Burn, Tonali, Bruno, Isak, Wilson, all automatic first team choices, missing then losing Miggy early on, there's no way I could see us beating Bournemouth. All teams go through injury crisis, and it's our turn at the moment. Ive argued with my nephew, a mad Toon fan, that Wilson is a liability, yes, he scores when he's fit, but he's too injury prone to depend on. We need an elite striker, first and foremost, and a top class centre half at the least in the next transfer window. This wouldn't be a problem given the riches of the owners, except for the little fact of Financial Fair Play ! So, we will just have to carry on building the financial resources within the rules, and even though we are far ahead of what anyone envisioned, it will take another season or two before we can really compete with the Premier "elite". I'm enjoying the ride and am sure it will only get better. Cheers.

Oi'm robbing myself. But Oi'll gi e ye the pick of Man U's centre half's and the pick of Er, Man U' s elite strikers and the only ting Oi I ask is that bum of a manager of yours. Oi can't say fairer than that. Is it a fair trade? Decide quick.Oi have other deals to make me boyo Edited November 11, 2023 by jukel123

Seriously though, I can see the "elite" teams making overtures to Howe, but I hope he is in for the long run with Newcastle with the backing of the owners and the board. He has the backing of the fans, but we all know how fickle fans can be ! We think it's a long term project, even though we would like instant results, we will just enjoy the roller coaster ride , after all, it's far better than we've had under the Ashley/Bruce regime. Cheers. 1
eastcoast 4,502
chartpolski, calling Wilson a liability is bit disrespectful. If he did not have injury problems Newcastle could never have bought him for £20M. If he had not came to Newcastle I doubt that the club would have hung on in the EPL and possibly would not have been bought by the new owners. I understand what your saying but, when it comes to actually winning something in my life, Wilson could prove to have been a more important number 9 than Shearer. And he will continue to contribute, I would not swap him for anyone, injury prone or not. Edited November 11, 2023 by eastcoast spelling

Our strike force of Rashford, Martial, Antony,Garnacho and Hoylund have managed one league goal between them. Edited November 11, 2023 by jukel123
