Already looking forward to the warmer weather.

Did our yearly trip to the Fraser, was a brutal trip to be fair with it pissing down, cold and windy most of the 4 days we were there. Only had two small salmon and no sturgeon over the first 3 days,

Hard going mate .I'm gonna have another bash tomorrow, probably head to levels as the canal may be iced up again

I'm going to have half a session on Sunday i think,  this place has been hammered during the Xmas holidays so it's no real surprise that it's tough going at the moment....good luck for tomorrow, tight lines

Not usually  but i sort of have in these last few sessions,  ive been sticking to the same peg , I save all the changed baits and heads and that , it all goes in at the end of the session,  its pressured day ticket water, but should settle down now people are back to work,

Just had a regular customer in my shop. Turns out he is a professional fisherman called Andy Bennet , just on his way to a match now . I know nothing of fishing and never heard of him in them circles. Proper nice fella , he’s been coming in for a good while . Had a YouTube channel and some decent sponsors he was telling the staff. Just found it interesting. Obviously had to google him

No , mostly Barbel , but there is a good number piking,  thanks to a certain youtuber.

It’s the same 80% sheep in every walk of life just follow on blindly there’s a big tower crane in the boatyard on the canal near me and many moons ago a bloke caught a 36lb pike and put a picture in the anglers mail with the crane in the background the spot has done nothing big for years but there are still loads there every morning people sleeping in vans etc it’s probably the most pressured bit of water on the 16 mile stretch and as a consequence the least productive

There has been a couple of 20lb barbel come out this stretch  the last month hence it's Xmas popularity 😅...no + 30lb  pike have come out here to my knowledge anyway, so it hasn't reached that level of interest yet , but it does gift some  20s  when the mood is right, im obsessed with catching a River Trent  20 + at the moment so I'm just going to sit here until March if that's what it takes,  blanks and all lol

FairPlay I,m quite keen on catching one of these which is another thing people are trying and failing to keep a bit quiet done a few mid twenty’s and I’ve even heard of the odd catfish making an appearance though nothing concrete if your ever down this way and like a bit of predator fishing the canal here is a bit special as I said pike to mid 30s Zs to mid 20s and 3/4lb perch most years and a couple motor home sites on the bank even get some nice carp here
