Great shot mate. But think all this technology's taken the sport out of hunting by making it easier. If we've got light sky's through the night ,early mornings too. You don't need this technology to find the game up a tree.

It's each to their own mate i suppose and how technology has evolved and i admit if this technology had been about when i was bang at it i would have used it. Remember an old poacher i did a bit with no longer with us telling me how an electrician at the pit made him a front and back light for his 22 rimfire out of a fibre optic ornament that a few used to have on top of their televisions in the 60s and i was told by him the gun with the sight ended up in some sort of police museum after it came on top one night and he stashed the gun with the pheasants he had shot and a keeper's dog found the birds with the gun.

Pulled a good shot off this morning probably a fluke in my case 😆 I spotted a squirrel up the side of the wood that was a fair distance catapult wise and hit it with anhead shot that just flipped it o

marked by the beddywhippet and a good head shot for a change.

Got to like a good roe fork

I would have loved thermal binoculars when I was doing the salmon.

Tbh mate the times it came on top for us 30 and 40 years ago were we managed to escape i don't think we would have been so lucky in evading capture and when the police started using thermal from the helicopter made the risk of capture even greater.

You really can't beat thermal,  my kill rate went through the roof when I had mine. I had to sell it as it were pulling on my eye , my eye ball felt it were gunna explode after a good walk out with it.The little dog tells me where most stuff is now and we don't do too bad as a team.

Tbh I didn't get my thermal for catty shooting. I bought for general use out and about , watching nature ect. But if you was up to no good, I dare say you could see trouble coming a mile off, check no reception party back at your motor when heading back to it. All sorts of uses. I just think it always pays to stay one step ahead in the game.

Coursing a lot of people use thermal to scan a field to walk over to the hare, have you done it?Lamps changed the game of night hunting, now it’s thermal it’s adapting and evolving.

No mate never hand on heart. Think it takes the fun out of poaching. More like Americans now getting. Traditional hunting all this technology has f****d it that my opinion. And prices are stupid because people pay it.

My old dogs are not long left in them now so might have to bring out the thermal dropped another woodie and lost it in cover this morning

A Like that tactic using the thermal because man's best friends getting older. Lol. Another reverse psychology tactic." I say well that okay " If your an old man and can't wade into some cover. Which it is okay if your an old man. But a youth or mid age shouldn't be using them at all. These company's know that some will go out and pay the prices. And all the components will be from over seas. Most probably put together over seas mate. Half the price of what there worth.
