Perfect advice from everyone off here if you want to get prosecuted when you take your terrier to the vets later in life and they want proof with documents.

I'd never own an undocked terrier but docking yourself is illegal unless qualified and only done through a vet practice under obvious particular circumstance.

Need to be careful mate.

Sam.

Feck all to do with the vet in later life wat u going to tell him or her you did it at home... never had a problem with docked pups at a vets even taken for jabs docked never ever been asked who done them.... take your money elsewhere if there cnuts

It's not "my" vet. It was registered near to where I got the pup from matey.

I think what DC is saying may have been taken the wrong way.

going to a VET is the same as going to a shop .

if you aren’t happy go to the shop down the road.

they have zero authority on anything and it’s the welfare of the dog they are, or should be concerned with but ultimately

it’s your business not theirs .

Most vets realise the benefits of docking therefore overlook legalities I think .Only litter I ever got docked by a vet was last but one and only because of a nosey neighbour .If you know what you are doing ……..if not find someone to show you .

I had an Indian lady check my dog over once, she pointed out the docking and said "it's a cultural thing, they dont dock dogs in Australia. " I pointed out plenty of dogs in aus might be left to get on with it or shot. Rightly or wrongly. Anyway I didn't like her attitude and the waiting room was rammed with obese labs and spaniels. Far more appealing to vets and their specialist diet food ranges. I don't mind the NZ guy who sees my dogs he's more or a farmer vet.

I understand what you're saying but I was trying to give advice as to not get prosecuted.

I spoke in a regard to help others and gave them insight into my circumstances about the legality of docking here.

Never once did I say anything negative. Trying to help mate, something that's apparently rare on here.

Shall we have a pint on it ??

I've watched a few different lads  using elastic bands and a biro, because they're not all born with it short enough..makes no difference to me,I wouldn't own a cnut even if it was for free, and believe me I could get as many as I wanted at the drop of a hat...but im happy grafting for my coin, unlike the ruthless cnuts knocking out litter after litter ??DSC_2492.JPG.899f32ae7d0618d0b5eea402bab8b218.JPG
