Don't try and learn too much at the same time. Practice right hand technique/hitting individual strings, just simplify everything til it all clicks. If you get frustrated, put the instrument down for half hour or so....but really, practice, practice, practice. It will all come together in time... Like the old saying goes you only get out what you put in .

Drvista 1
I’ve been playing a mix of acoustic and electric for a few years and still get stuck with fingerpicking patterns now and then. I found some handy stuff on artmaster.com that breaks things down really simply, especially rhythm exercises. Been messing around with some folk stuff lately, and it's come in handy for that. Just makes things click a bit better without overloading you. Edited July 14 by Drvista
cragman 2,840
Played the drums in a group in the seventies, self taught from an early age and could just pick up where I left off. Toying with getting another kit once I retire. Had to sell my original kit years ago to make Christmas happen for us during harder times

comanche 3,259
I rescued an old Vox Bassmaster minus strings and pick-ups from a skip a a few years ago . I'd like to blame the cheap ebay pick-ups l fitted and cut down strings ( proper 30" scale strings are a bit pricey ) but l think l'm to blame for most of the funny noises it makes The boot sale rubber string acoustic mini bass is great fun. It plugs into an amp when l want to remind the neighbours what a crap player l am. Edited July 15 by comanche 3
