So, I’ve found out what’s under the patio, I would call it “ fu*k all “ but it’s a mix of dolly, gravel, sand and soil, really it should of been dug out but the customer doesn’t want the bill to double, so I’ve broken up the bed and whacked it in, they’ve also asked for sets in front of the shed, so I’ve hand dug that out today and broke into the drain for the Aco’s, hopefully my mate will be with me tomorrow so we can get a bit more done

You’ll appreciate and not take for granted the perks of that job since busting your balls in construction for all those years.

The plan is to stick it out for the next 4 years, till I'm 50,put all  my wages ,from it,into a high interest savings account,we can live off the wife's wages quite comfortably ,then sell everything, take the money and f**k off somewhere sunny, and just grow copious amounts of weed until I'm too old and turn up my toes....

Had enough of being self employed and chasing work . applied for a job on the books in a joinery workshop for a local building firm ,painting what they produce ,and restoring windows mainly sashes .  Had my first ever interview, beat the competition and now have my own “workshop” 20 mins walk from home .

.all the benefits of self employment have been f****d off mate, the lack of cash every body talking money laundering doing your books online instead of a good corrupt accountant claiming back for everything, my last accountant even put my first boat through the books as a mobile office lol better off playing the system from inside now I have my first two days up the airbase 23/24 this month then keep a few little fiddles going on the side the other 3 days

I do my own tax so I decided what goes on the self assessment and the best way to get cash is to bring VAT into the conversation and how the VAT can be lost, I had 20+ years working for people and it’s good for a steady wage but what I didn’t like was they told me when to go to work

Bit more down today, can’t really cross all the joints because I don’t think I’ll have enough paving to go back down if I have to do any cuts, there’s a set going in around the edge to give me a little extra, I wanted to put 2 in but customer didn’t want that, I’m sure it will look fine when it’s done, it can’t look any worse than when I started
