Veiw from your office

Coincidentally did visit North Shields Quay today for work. Liked this that has recently been done. Disappointed to find out it wasn't done freehand and they used stencils but maybe that's how things are done for time/cost these days? Not saying it is not bespoke.

We done a load a couple winters ago, an was told best time to do em was when they was dormant as long as not too wet, the vast majority of them are thriving now

Laurels are evergreen so never dormant ... And normally bareroot laurels haven't been hardened off so they don't take to the cold to well when planted straight out ..

Best time of year to do it, they are being planted on built up ground as well so their feet won’t be too wet over winter, a couple of years ago they got a grant to make a small woodland, they wanted us to do it but had to have someone like natural England to do it, they did it in late spring, 90% are dead, where as the hedge I planted for them in the November is now 3’ high and ready to be cut back

I did this one 3 years ago same time of year and never had to replace any 👍

Never any luck with bareroot laurels over here .. we used to pot them up and glass house them till the warmer weather then they would of gone out for sale ..

I wouldn’t of put these in if they’d be sitting in wet soil but with it being built up and the soil is from next to the river Tees so it’s really good quality and free draining, they should be fine 👍

Miserable day to be feeding the flying chickens, the state of it up here I could do with swapping them for ducks

Surprised your keeping them alive tbh in this recent weather, must have cost you a fortune fitting them all with goretex haha
