my mates split some of his into paddocks i dont know what he makes but if your mrs is into horses she`ll know but he says its reguler  income he`s not long done a fenced in field for dog walkers and a dog wash and his mrs got a little pet shop and they`ve looked into using a field for a few caravans ,,, not what everyone wants i know but like he says all nice little earners good luck with it all .

The only problem with all those kind of things. Is you move to a peaceful, rural, retreat and then fill up up with random horsey woman, people with pet dogs who can’t let them Off a lead normally etc etc ? I can’t think of owt worse!

Mind you a little campsite in the furthest field would be a fair idea ?

Ps I hate people ?

On a serious note I've NO IDEA what I'm doing and I'm shiting myself at the thought of actually earning a living from land with no experience of farming.......and I'm told there's no single farm payments from next year.

You be alright mate.old defender 90 a flat cap and piece of straw hanging out the side of your mouth and answer everyone with the words 'oooorr aarrhhhhh and keep moaning about the weather ?

And dont forget to practice shouting.off my land ? so the first map holding rambler can be told...

enclosed field for dog walking  and dog wash been a good earner horses dont bother him they`ve got 6 hunters of their own .. so it all  works for him he just cracks on with farming while his mrs takes care of the rest of it , as you know everythings down on price so if she can weigh in with another 10k ? plus a year it all helps

Thats fair mate. Sounds like it works well, maximising the £ per acre. I just dont like people lol.

Horses are a drain on resources. But looking after other people's horses can be very lucrative.

Well it's still all up in the air, it turns out that the contract of sale I've signed was a commercial sale contract and it leaves me liable for VAT !

It was being marketed as residential so I've put my solicitor onto it and we're waiting for a new contract. Lifes never straight forward,  it seems that everyone wants their pound of flesh, even if I dodge the VAT I'm now going to miss the stamp duty holiday
